Best Hotel in Freiberg !
Bill Mon 28/07/2016 16:05Stayed at the Silberhof last month for 30 days while working in Freiberg, was very happy with the accomodations and staff. Big improvement over the initial hotel... Location is decent, the food really good (try the steaks!) and the beer garden quite pleasant. Returning for another month soon, will definitely return here.
Near the city center , breakfast poor quality rooms satisfactory overall impression average.

Average Hotel for a Short Stay
joyissacon 16/10/2015 19:26The Hotel is well located, only walkable distance from the city centre . They have a huge TV , if you want to stay back in the hotel lobby and watch a game. The rooms are clean but bit old. The reception Speaks only German. I would only recommend this hotel if its for a very short stay.
Please note that the WIFI can be very bad at times.
four stars? only by GDR standards not 2014
Economistmumon 15/10/2014 19:41Where to start. There are nice rooms but our group got mostly the small dingy ones at the back.
Uncomfortable beds, pillow was less than plump. A request for a second pillow ( as in the hotel information) was catered with a sofa pillow half stuffed into a case. Sheets not changed despite claims that they were changed every four days. Bathroom beyond small, had to squeeze half way in, do a half turn to close the door. Only squeeze bottles of soap. waste baskets never emptied or the rooms cleaned. Inadequately staffed ( young girl and trainee seemed to the only ones catering to full house of 40+ guests). Manager (?) made occasional appearances but seemed to be busy elsewhere. The staff were helpful and friendly but overwhelmed.
Breakfast was poor quality and quantity and slow to refill platters even when the hotel was full. no offers to cook eggs other than the hardboiled ones provided. As a group we ate three dinners here, should have skipped and eaten elsewhere, lots of tasteless overcooked food .
And the TV sets in the rooms were a museum of many ancient models. Two large screen TVs in the reception area but that was colonised by smoking staff. By the back door was a cigarette vending machine and the whole area reeked.
the wifi was good, the rest was highly unprofessional and unacceptable standards
Amiable, average hotel
EDR21on 20/08/2014 09:38Very clean, quite hotel. Good for a romantic evening. Friendly staff with good level of English. Breakfast is surprising high quality for such a small place. Parking available. There is a restauratn as well (did not try it but the smalls were very inticing).
