What People are saying

NICE ...

3njoyLif3on 30/09/2015 10:34

Nice hotel next to the Rhein ... breakfasts is great, lots of choice and nice service. sauna is available in the hotel. one negative point is that there are still smoker rooms and my first location was in a smoker room as a non-smoker ... parking is available near hotel but spaces are limited. rooms are clean. service is friendly. the restaurant has a view on the Rhein ... also a teras for Sunny days.

Unfriendly reception

Farang123on 04/02/2015 10:31

On a business trip we visited Rees as it was near to our customer. Reception at the Rheinpark was not very friendly, but we needed a room. First time in Germany I have ever been asked to pay BEFORE I was given the key to the room. Insisted in copying my passport, which is a bit unnecessary. My colleague and I must look untrustworthy! Price is on the high side but rooms are rooms are OK. Location is good, right on the river. Did not use the restaurant in the evening. Our foreign registered car was hounded around the town with warnings from residents and notes advising us that the residents objected to our parking the car even in a legitimate spot. Bizarre!!!
Hotel breakfast was good. Try the honeycomb! Although wild horses would not drag me back to this God foresaken little corner of Germany.

Great hotel on the Rhine River

Kirsten Eon 28/12/2014 07:23

We stayed at this hotel for one night as part of our Rhine River cycle tour. We cycled past this hotel into the centre of Rees as it looked too good for us! The staff were very welcoming, considerate and became involved in tracking our delayed luggage - providing us with updates every half hour (they found it was delivered to another town - Wesel - and finally arrived well after 7:30pm!) No compensation provided by the bike touring company!!!
This hotel is situated right next to the Rhine River with most rooms sharing a view of the river. It is also central to the old part of town, and opposite a lovely park.
We had a luxurious room (#201) - a great size, modern, light and comfortable. Dual aspect windows provided good cross-ventilation (no air-conditioning). The room contained a large study table with chair, mini-bar, large TV and two king single beds pushed together to make a double. Free wifi was available in our room. The ensuite was adequate and modern with well-appointed fixtures.
The hotel had a restaurant, which also doubled as the breakfast room - with a generous outdoor seating area, positioned well to take in the splendid views of the Rhine River. The breakfast provisions were extremely adequate with a great assortment of cereals, breads, rolls, jams, juices, meats, cheeses, hot food, fresh fruit, cake and tea & coffee. This was included in our room rate. We could have sat here for hours just watching barges go by along the Rhine River!
Totally recommended.

Really nice view - everything else is moderate

alex_weon 15/09/2014 14:38

Directly at the Rhein with a really nice view from the restaurant and from some of the rooms. They are moderate - but not more. Friendly stuff at the reeption, also the restaurant quality is moderate...
Surrounding is very nice, you can have a nice walk directly at the "Rhein" 1 minute away...

Very good apart from a couple of details

Ronan74on 02/09/2014 21:20

I stayed for two nights and found the accomodation to be spacious and clean with a reasonable view of the Rhine. The staff are good and all the ones I met speak decent English. The wifi was free but not working in my room, something that will be addressed soon i am assured.
The restaurant is very good, I had a tomato soup which was a surprise- clear, like a consommé with broad beans and ravioli served in a kilner jar. I also had a schnitzel in mushroom sauce. Both were outstanding and the only thing that let it down was that the ravioli I would have sworn were fish not cheese.
