Wonderful hotel & location!!
MarinaVmusicon 04/04/2017 23:46I absolutely loved this boutique hotel! It is clean, modern and lovely! The bed is comfy, pillows and the blanket are soft and nice, and the bathroom is spacious! And.. free breakfast is delivered every morning to your room!
The hotel's location is perfect: it is in a lovely (and not overly-touristy) neighborhood very close to everything. We almost never used cabs or even public transit as the hotel is only a 10 minute walk to the Vatican entrance and a 20 minute beautiful walk to the historic center of Rome (Piazza Navona, etc).
I'd like to give special thanks to staff member Amr Gaafar for going above & beyond to make our stay comfortable and wonderful, and to make us feel welcome!
Good base for sightseeing trip
Pamyanon 13/03/2017 12:05We had a fantastic trip to Rome (our first time) and this was our base.
Firstly, i would not call it a hotel. It is a few rooms, 7 I think, on a 3rd floor corridor of a multi purpose building. I think the other floors were businesses. There were plenty of business people about. There is a very grand door which you access with a pin code and a lovely old style lift. The reception consists of a small desk near the door and just behind that there is a 'cupboard' which houses a microwave. This appears to be the kitchen. On arrival you fill in a form to give your breakfast requirements. Choice was croissant or sliced bread, jam or honey, tea or coffee and time it is brought to your room. You will receive the same each morning of your stay. The coffee and orange juice were lovely but unfortunately we chose sliced bread. This turned out to be two small slices each which had been warmed in the microwave and was totally dried up. Lesson learned. Eat out. We had planned a trip out the next morning and the early departure didn't allow us time to find a decent breakfast first so spent a very hungry time at the colosseum. Our room was small but perfectly adequate for a three night stay. Very clean with comfy bed. Don't expect a view, however not a problem if like us you were there just to see the sights. The chap on the reception was very friendly but spoke no English and there were communication problems regarding the booking of our taxi for return trip to airport. First the chap booked it for the wrong day and we had to correct him. When our taxi arrived at 4.30am on day of departure as requested, the taxi driver had us down for a different airport. As the reception isn't manned all the time, there was no one to check with and as we were out on the street by then and no one else in sight we didn't know how to ring another taxi. Eventually after contacting his office and a bit of ummimg and aaahing, the taxi driver agreed to take us where we needed to be. Phew! The appeal of Hotel Roma Vaticano is its situation. Plenty of shops and restaurants close by and a 10-15 minute walk from the Vatican. We would definitely stay here again but probably only for a couple of nights
Perfect for our Trip - Sight Seeing, Rugy & Eating Out
gedlord77on 08/02/2017 20:57Location - 5/5 - The hotel is well placed. 5-10 minute walk from the Metro, 10-15 minute walk and you are at the entrance to the Vatican. Step outside the front door and there are many fantastic places to eat and drink and you are surrounded by shops and independant market stalls.
Hotel Staff - 5/5 - The staff were very helpful and friendly; nothing was too much trouble.
Room - 5/5 - Perfect for what we wanted (a clean safe comfortable place to leave our belongings and sleep between seeing the sights and eating out). The rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable. Yes, if you were to apply the Four in a Bed standard you would find a bit of dust or scuff marks on the walls. The room had a TV with a music channel, air conditioning, mini bar and a good shower (shower gel, tooth brush, disposable razors etc provided).
Breakfast - 5/5 A choice of continental breakfast. Breakfast was served in your room but that didn't bother us as it was a quick get me going snack!
I would recommend this hotel. It's not luxury (no Spa, gym, bar etc) but it's perfect for location, comfort, service and price if you are on a sightseeing trip where it's use will be for geting a good nights sleep and getting changed!
Trip away with boyfriend
hjnewman2017on 21/01/2017 13:58Lovely apartment hotel, very simple but clean and receptionist friendly and helpful, providing us with a handy map of the city. Room lovely and big and hotel in a perfect location. Nice to wake up to tea and breakfast every morning. Overall had a lovely stay here.
Great location wonderful staff
Teresita7558on 27/12/2016 23:26We just spent four nights at the Hotel Roma Vaticano. Even though this hotel is centrally located, the rooms are very quiet. Room was very clean and the staff goes far and beyond their duties in order to make your stay as good as possible. Great location close to the Vatican, nice restaurants and very nice and safe area. Best hot croissants and cappuccino bought to your room each morning.
