Elliott Don 09/07/2015 00:23I stayed here for one night while traveling through the Tohoku region. The location is perfect for travelers since it is right across the street from the west exit of Yamagata Station. Directions are unnecessary, you really can't miss it.
The front desk staff was very helpful - they have English language descriptions of the hotel amenities and policies, and the staff clearly enjoys assisting international guests.
The room was a typical business hotel size, but the bed was comfortable and the desk had plenty of space for me to work with. Free wi-fi and wired internet are available and both work well.
I enjoyed visiting the onsen/shared bath on the top floor, it was the perfect way to wind down at the end of the day.
Breakfast wasn't amazing, but it was more than adequate and you won't leave hungry!
Didn't explore too much of the area around the hotel, but it is definitely sleepier than the main area on the other side of the station (that said, it's still less than 10 minutes away on foot). There is a large Max Valu supermarket nearby which is open late and has a good selection of food (only downside is that it is somewhat cacophonous in there with stereos all over the place blaring loud jingles on a loop).
Overall a great stay, would definitely return here next time I'm in Yamagata!
