Invalid charge to my credit card

I had made a reservation for this hotel through booking.com for late December 2016. Later I decided to cancel my reservation in "free cancellation period" because I found a better hotel. I did so and got a confirmation from booking.com which states "it is a free cancellation". There was a charge on my credit card and I assumed it will be refunded automatically. But they did not and I contacted the hotel directly about this situation. They did not refund the payment after my several e-mails with no explanation and I contacted booking.com to claim. Anyway, booking.com refunded my payment directly because the hotel did not make the refund despite booking.com's efforts. I recommend not to give your credit card details to this dishonest hotel.

Good Budget Hotel

This residence located in heart of Paris , accessible to most important tourist attraction in this city by walking and also close to metro station , I recommend this place for staying and the only negative point is about old lift ( elevator ) , finding such as Budget hotels inside this expensive city is quite difficult .

Worst hotel experience in over 6 months of traveling.

Arrived to the hotel and rode the tiny lift that is incapable of taking two people with bags up to the third floor reception. We were given room 55 which was on the fifth floor, quite a large corner room. The room was in disrepair with peeling paint and wallpaper, Stains in bathroom. There was one small heater in the room, which was turned off on arrival (this was October). The room was cold so we turned the heater to max and headed out to find dinner. After a few hours the room was still cold and required staying bundled up in the room. The wifi was also not functional in the room even while attempting to use mobile apps on a phone. Went to go complain to the reception and the doorknob fell off the door. I asked to be moved for the night to a warmer room and that I would like to cancel the rest of the stay and find another hotel. Was told I could move the room tonight but nobody could help me until the morning in terms of canceling my stay. We were given another room which was warmer but still with paint and in a poor condition.

The next morning I was at the desk at 8am for what I was told was a manager named Hamil. He told me after talking to the night receptionist that it was fine and I could go. I went back to my room and packed my bags. When I returned to discuss getting my money back from the hotel for the rest of my stay Hamil became very confrontational and stated that we had paid and he would not issue a refund as he could not re-book the room. After three hours of arguments including him yelling on the phone to the booking agent and him repeatedly saying that I was not his customer and that he does not care about me or my stay, I grabbed my bags and left. I have traveled to 24 different countries and stayed in hundreds of hotels. This was my absolute worst experience. I went and found a lovely hotel for less money a few blocks away.

If you want cocktail bar, fresh flowers daily and a heated swimming pool, then this is just not the place for you!! But if you want a clean, comfortable bed and friendly, informative and helpful staff, located in the heart of the Parissiene attractions at affordable prices, this IS for you? This is our third time to the Residence, it's not perfect but it suits us - and it leaves Euros in our pocket. Yes, the lift is small, (I'm not) but we manage, the rooms are modest but clean, breakfast is adequate - want more? Then you' re going to have to pay more. Viva la Residence du Concorde - oh, by the way, I have no financial interest in this hotel!!

Excellent no frills experience

Staff very friendly, location fantastic, room small but functional, exactly what you need from a no frills hotel - somewhere to lay your head down and explore this beautiful city from! There is a clear signpost outside, working (tiny) lift and great staff, some of the criticisms I read here were undeserved.would recommend!

If I was really pushed to pick a criticism it was that the WiFi was patchy in the room but worked perfectly at reception so it didn't cause too many problems.
