Good location, Decent if only to sleep
cheesycrackerson 27/09/2016 19:43We arrived here on a Monday. Great location for touring the city. However at night, the location must be near a hospital as I heard loud sirens all night. It also rained and the carpet in the room was moist. Take pesos as they charge you more in US Dollars. They dont exchange the currency for what its worth. I ended up paying $8 more because I didn't have enough pesos. They also charge about $15 more if more than 2 people staying in the room. If you will be out exploring, definitely a good place to stay. If you are looking for a comfy hotel to stay and enjoy, go somewhere else. No problems with WiFi. And the parking was safe with a security guard.
Hotel Santo Tomas!
Jiro_Kaneshiroon 13/04/2016 21:03Hotel Santo Tomas!
Right across the street from a 7-11 Oxxo and the plaza. The famous Mercado negro for all of the seafood is just across the street to you're right a block or two.The Hotel itself is well kept and the lobby is surprisingly Beautiful. There are plenty of restaurants and shops behind the Hotel and if you walk down far enough, there is even a Sears!
Clean and average
Berocokon 18/03/2016 19:59I stayed there last year on October with my family. Rooms are clean and hotel has a great location, close of everything, but it is an old hotel. Parking available, but don't arrive very late because you won't find a parking place available for you. Average, it was good for the price.
A modest and comfortable hotel
jrwshngtnon 18/03/2016 17:34I enjoyed my stay here during a business trip. The hotel is centrally located in the bustling tourist area. The room rates are very inexpensive. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Some rooms were a bit dated but for the price and location, I have nothing to complain about. The restaurant on premises is a really good place for breakfast. A pharmacy is adjacent to the street entrance. Parking is secure but tight.
Return-stay review
McLinksteron 16/03/2016 21:36In my previous review, I asserted that I would stay here again. I am doing so as I type this - here are some impressions, Pro and Con.
Pro:
It's quite clean.
An adequate, even decent, Breakfast is included at a small cafe across the street.
The Wi-Fi coverage is dramatically improved - but with still some inconsistent and fluctuating signal quality.
All of the staff are very friendly and anxious to help. Most have at least some English skill, but you should try to meet them with Spanish at least part way.
The Chinchilla family that lives in the lobby has grown to six members.
The price is right.
Con:
The hot water is not. Top floor water pressure is still low.
The building is old and experiencing old building issues.
The construction on Costero Blvd is over, so the construction noise has been replaced by traffic noise. It's really not too noticeable except for when an emergency vehicle passes.
The satellite TV is only in Spanish language.
Overall, it's a decent place for the money, other than the hot water issue. I'd stay again, but recommend you ask for a second-floor room due to the water pressure issues.
