The "escaperoom" hotel
EastWest2020on 23/05/2017 20:26They love keys. Use one key to find another one. Located at the Rhein, with a solid not special, somewhat plain restaurant. The place has been there for decades and will stay there for decades. Clean, nice but very boring... Except for the keys off course.
Location and service excellent

My room with river view and balcony , free fridge drinks , wifi , nice bathroom with good quality toiletries was good . 20mins from Basel by train this is great value for excellent quality . The service for various requests was good , its 5 mins walk from the Swiss sbb station and over the bridge 5 mins to the German station . We ate at the restaurant , good food and wine options , Swiss prices . Breakfast was a treat overlooking the river with a typically Swiss buffet , nice breads etc . Yes I would return if I needed a hotel in the Basel area .Breakfast was included so no ridiculpus additional cost ....
My 1st time in Rheinfelden
kbsoakon 13/04/2017 00:59Upon my arrival I realized that I booked my room for the following eve. Bad news, Basel World and hardly any place to stay. The Schiff Associate working the desk that evening worked hard, made calls and found me a room at their sister hotel Eden. I checked in at Hotel Eden and was welcomed immediately with friendly attentive service. The next day I arrived to check into Schiff and was welcomed again just the same. The staff working the front desk of both hotels were always very friendly daily and especially helpful in my need to find a room due to my mistake in booking the day after my arrival.
The Hotel Schiff is a nice standard no frills hotel with a wonderful Rhein river location. My room was amazing in the fact that it was literally on top of the Rhein. The restaurant dinner food was delicious and seemed to have a good selection. I takeaway a point from Hotel Schiff because the morning breakfast was poor. I have stayed in hotels in and around Basel and this was probably the worst selection I've seen. Also, there was a guy in the hotel staff that attended to morning patrons of the hotel and he was NOT at all friendly and it was apparent he would rather be elsewhere. I would have give a complete 5 if not for this experience.
After 2 attempts at breakfast I thought it smarter to spend my time and money grabbing a quick bite at the local eateries in Basel.
All in all the Hotel Schiff and its sister Hotel Eden are great places to stay. I already recommend Hotel Eden to corporate staffers as a potential meeting location or Hotel Schiff for other out of town corporate staff.
Lovely Hotel in a Scenic Location
RNC007on 12/04/2017 13:30Stayed for just one night and the whole experience was good. Polite staff all wanting to help. A lovely dinner with good service although the breakfast seemed to have been cleared up by earlier guests and the selection was limited. Positioned alongside the Rhein and a bridge to explore the opposite bank of the town it's location is perfect. Worth staying at.
Pleasant hotel lovely town
Scott Son 29/03/2017 18:58Pretty little town on the river with some interesting individual shops, coffe bars and restaurants. The view from window was lovely see pictures and the room was spacious for a single with nice clean bathroom did not have dinner but restaurant food looked great.
