What People are saying

Exceptional Hotel Deep in the Alps

St. Moritz is known mostly for ski/snowboard in the winter but we were there in the summer but has lots of options for mountains and trails to walk/hike. At check-in we were greeted by Sandra and she gave a good explanation of the Engadine region and what we wanted to see. This was important as we only were there for 2 nights and we had to be realistic in what we can see in the given time. We settled on seeing Muttoas Muragle. Sandra herself showed us our rooms and their features.

St. Moritz the town itself has only about 5000 people but you do feel like you are in another world with the giant alps surrounding you in the background with the small lake. Very picturesque.

Breakfast buffet was excellent as they also had an omelette station where a chef made omelettes however we like them.

For dinner we ate at Dal Mulin as my dad really wanted lamb chops. The other was a Siam Wind a Thai restaurant. Both were excellent.

One of the girls in the hotel arranged our wakeup calls and taxi on our last day as we had to catch the morning Bernina Express. I believe her name was Rada or Radwa?

This is a great place to stay and if we come back to St. Moritz we will stay here again.

Perfect!

We arrived in St. Moritz after the day-long Glacier Express ride, so it was with relief and joy that we were greeted by the hotel's shuttle at the rail station. After a very short ride, we were quickly checked in and our luggage was brought to our room. Our room was big enough and quiet comfortable, with a balcony that looked over the lake to the mountains beyond. As it was off-season, there were very few people in the town, but we enjoyed a walk along the lake as the day came to a close. Turning right from the front door of the hotel, after a short walk, there is an escalator that goes right down to the lakefront, where there is a lovely walking path. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, with a young man who cooked eggs to order perfectly. I want to especially commend Sandra Bernherd, at the front desk, who called the Swiss Travel Agency with a question we had about our itinerary after leaving the hotel. She could not have been more gracious and helpful.

OLD WORLD CHARM IN GREAT LOCATION

Beautifully situated on the slopes of the lake in St. Moritz. We had a junior suite which was large and offered AMAZING views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The room/furniture was a little dated, but quite comfortable and the location and views made up for it. Bountiful breakfast buffet. Small bar area. Comes with a Nespresso machine and coffee/tea, and mini fridge with free beer, waters, cokes!

Great location, but a bit noisy.

We stayed here 4 nights as part of our tour of St Moritz. We had room 108, which has access to the first floor patio overlooking the lake. The room was very spacious and quite comfortable except for the late night partiers that passed immediately below our windows. On several nights things did not quiet down until well into the next morning.
The breakfast buffet is one of the best we've had in Europe. And the location is excellent, only about 100 m to the city center and main transport hub. Some others in our group had rooms higher up and did not seem bothered by the noise, so would recommend rooms on third floor or above in summer.

The best of three by a country mile

We recently enjoyed a relatively short rail holiday in Switzerland booked through the Swiss Travel Centre in London. During eight wonderful days we stayed in three 4* hotels, in Montreux, Interlaken and St.Moritz as well as enjoying first class rail travel. The country is an absolute gem and the locals are rightly proud of it, keep it pristine and take great delight in showing all of the many best bits to visitors. We were bowled over by the friendliness and professionalism displayed by everyone we encountered and, yes, the trains definitely run on time!
Our final hotel, in St.Moritz, was just superb as far as we were concerned. The staff were all helpful, the room was great and the food, both in the Acla Restaurant and at breakfast time was excellent. The place was not in the least bit pretentious and had a good atmosphere about it. If you do go try the Aigle Les Murailles white wine from M.Henri Badoux with something appropriate at dinner. Delicious, and, I confess, previously unknown to us. A great example of a team all working together and enjoying what they do. Very well done! Thank you.
