Unfortunate Experience

We stayed here over a long weekend while we were studying abroad. Our main focus was on skiing/snowboarding. Switzerland is not a cheap place and we were all already sacrificing a lot to make this trip work. We ended up finding a deal for two bedrooms online. We were traveling with 5 people and we figured we could make it work. In the US, putting multiple people in a room is not a big deal. No one says anything. We thought nothing of it. The rooms were plenty big and we had no issue making it work.

Conveniently for the hotel, they notified us via email AFTER we left that it was 'illegal' for us to have as many people in the rooms as we did. They slapped us with a 1,500 euro charge for the police report they filed against us along with the additional price per person. It would have been cheaper for us to all get a ritzy hotel and each get our own bedroom than to stay here. It was clear that they did this intentionally to rob us of additional money. We would have paid the extra fee per night if they would have told us immediately. It was cowardly for them to never say anything. In addition, we never partook in the 'free' customer breakfast or used any of the amenities. We tried out best to keep a low profile.

I understand people have to do what they have to do, but charging a group of young American students an additional 1500 euro when they were well aware we were staying their the entire time is just greedy. If they would have approached the situation professionally we would have found a different place to stay or cooperated as we were in the wrong.

I appreciate people who look out for other people regardless of the amount of money you have in your pocket and the owners of this hotel do not. Just a heads up if you choose to stay there. I may be 'young' but I was still a customer and should not have been taken advantage of.

Great location

This hotel has a well lived in appearance, and a little worn here and there, but this just adds to the charm. Our room was very large with a sitting area, and a little balcony with a fabulous Swiss Alp view. Limited plugs in the room but we worked this out. The hotel has a family run feel about it, and has a small bar just off the lobby area, as well as guest laundry facilities, which we were so happy to see. Located right in the centre of town, which makes for easy walk about sight seeing. We enjoyed the included breakfast, as well as the delicious dinner, and were very happy to stay here. There is major construction going on at the hotel next door, which did not disturb us, but made photo ops of this pretty hotel more challenging.

Located in a valley and surrounded by snow capped mountains. Very neat and tidy.Clean beds, bath room. Buffet breakfast with a variety.Very European menus, as throughout Europe. Really enjoyed staying in this hotel for two nights.

Beautiful place to stay

I just loved this hotel, everything about it is nice, location, room size, amenities, and staff, had a comfortable 2 day stay here. I had beautiful view of the swiss Alps from my room.
Its so close to the cable car spot that one can walk to it. The entire town is so cute and small that strolling aimlessly can be great fun there

Great hotel with fantastic views

Stayed here for two nights and had a fantastic stay. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was good and staff and breakfast we're fantastic. 5 minute walk away from a range of bars and restaurants and 10 minute walk from the chair lift up to mount titlis. We had a balcony, where the views of the Swiss alps are extraordinary. Will definitely been coming back in the future!!
