Great stage
stefferrari8on 11/04/2017 15:17The hotel is splendidly located with a great view on Lake Lucerne. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The personnel is friendly and food is excellent. A small indoor swimming pool and annexed training facility along with the possibility of renting mountain bikes render the stage perfect. A playground for kids is available.

KenazGmbHon 28/02/2017 08:25The owners are very reasonable people. I can say that you will not find there useless stuff (you pay for even if you do not need it) like in majority of other hotels. Still they have a pool, nice cuisine, good vine choice, splendid view -- what else do you need in Switzerland?
Breath Taking! No Other Words...
oceangrlzon 04/10/2016 22:04The travel up to the hotel was very daunting but our bus driver handled it. The road was narrow and quite winding but he was able to make it. I had my doubts at points but he forged ahead bravely.
The hotel was like a ski lodge I would see back home. The room were quite sparse, or Spartan, as our guide would say. He prepared us for the fact that these rooms would not be like our rooms in our other hotels but would be very plain and no frills. He couldn't have called it any more clearly. Arriving in our room, I felt as if I had walked into an Ikea showroom floor. The beds were just the frames with a box spring perhaps? There was a comforter laying on top but no draw sheet. The pillows were not soft and limited amenities. The toilet frightened me every time I flushed it and our shower was a fairly narrow corner shower with no tub. There appeared to be a thermostat on the wall but we never discovered what it might be running in the room. It was quite warm so we opened our windows and discovered that the mosquitoes were quite please at our invitation. The second night, we came up with a plan to keep them out which worked splendidly. So you might think I didn't like this hotel and you would be so wrong. The inconveniences that made it slightly uncomfortable, did not by any stretch overwhelm the many reasons I loved the hotel. The view of Lake Lucerne was so stunning that I spent many times during the day standing at the overlook area. Many quiet times sitting on the numerous benches scattered about so that you could see the valley from different angles. There was a wonderful walking trail behind the hotel which was man-made and wound through the forest. I took a couple of opportunities to go for a walk and run. Hilariously, there was work-out equipment on the overlook area. It was quite Ikea-esque in nature. I had to read the directions to figure out how to use it but I was delighted to try.
The staff was so friendly and helpful and the food, the food was so delicious and freshly prepared. The first night, we were treated to a traditional Swiss band comprised of accordion, upright bass and a small percussion kit. I was absolutely thrilled and delighted by their music.
One of my favorite aspects, and this will sound quite silly, was the "roomba" style lawn mower they had manicuring the grassy areas. In the evening, it would even tuck itself into bed. I laughed out loud the first time I saw it. One note to prepare you for, the bells from the chapel, a stone's throw from the hotel. I adored it but I can see how it might be difficult for some. The chapel bells were hand rung at every quarter hour and the time was rung out in full, on the hour. At 5am promptly, the bells rung consistently for about 5 minutes. When I asked about it, they said it was to wake the farmers...Delightful! Please don't let the negative comments stop you from staying here. I would go back again and again, without hesitation!
Fantastic Hotel
J_Wettyon 07/09/2016 11:43We used this hotel as a stop on our cycling trip. The location is i think about 55 minutes from Zurich Airport. The location has amazing views, nice staff, small but clean and nice rooms and good breakfast. There is bike storage and good parking. Views are amazing.

Ludmil Aon 18/08/2016 19:31Our time here has been great. The hotel staff are very very friendly. The restaurant had surprised us at every meal. The pool and fitness are great and when it comes to the view - nothing can beat this breathtaking Swiss scenary.
