Pro:
Spacious rooms in wooden structure.

Con:
Very rude staff behavior
Wifi was shutdown (While it was working in all other hotels in Gulmarg)
We couldn't get food or tea/coffee because staff was on leave

I travelled here on 11-12 April 2016 on my honeymoon. The manager Yaseen is hell of a guy including his staff. They helped us a lot when my wife got injured while coming down from Phase 1 Gondola on sledge(not recommended at all) We even lost wallet in that ride.
We had the best food in Kashmir here in Shaw Inn along with Dana Pani in Pahalgam. A separate chef attended to our likings for the menu as the they had influx of Gujarati clients and buffet was according to them . This proved to be a benefit as chef made our chosen dishes as per our taste with lip smacking breakfast and dinner. The service is prompt.
The rooms are good and tastefully done with good views from corner rooms on 2nd floor. When we visited, there was snow around the vicinity itself and we had lot of fun from the moment when we reached. We stayed 2 nights in Shaw Inn.
The property being relatively new is in great condition and is maintained well. 2 minutes walk to Gondola.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Go for MAP plan. And will surely visit myself again.

This is a small hotel with 20 rooms , however it is new hotel and rooms are very much comfortable.I really like this hotel and would advise all this mid range hotel.Its definitely worth for money.Service and location is good.Food served is good.Rooms are modern and all wooden panels @ floors/ walls.This is a hotel for everyone , family , friends and couple .

you must remember that gulmarg hotel reviews are of two types -
- the summer reviews when gulmarg lives up to its name - 'meadow of flowers' and travellers come seeking beauty and a round of golf, and
- the winter reviews when gulmarg is again a treat to watch, being entirely snow covered, and is home to skiing, snow boarding and ice skating.
this is a WINTER review when i went with my children for a skiing holiday.
the hotel is well located, a five minute walk from the ski lift (gondola), completely wooden in its construction, centrally heated - though they switch off the central heating for large parts of the day - and you have to keep reminding the staff to switch it on - and you need the central heating as much for the heating as to help dry up your wet clothing items after your numerous falls on the slopes!
though we bought a wi fi connection for 24 hours, the reception was very poor and uncertain.
the hotel has a small lounge/ family area opposite the dining hall which was great for us since we travelled in a large group - we used the room for our evening games, dumb charades etc!
the staff are helpful and courteous. the food is average and sometimes gets over before every one is done - so inform the staff earlier, especially if you are planning on a late meal.
overall a good experience.
