Decided on a whim to move from SE to SW of Sardinia. Booked this for good price and had no high hopes. It has been lovely. Spotlessly clean, charming and helpful staff and great pool area. The room was sufficient. Nice large bed, air conditioning and Wifi that worked and reasonable space. Shower was old fashioned and very limited space but worked. Would recommend .
a little better than average but could be a lot better

No signs showing hotel location but on arrival friendly staff showed us to a lovely family room which was very clean. However Tv only had one useful channel, wifi did not work, broken toilet seat and the shower was useless..you had to hold the shower head and take care not to soak the rest of the bathroom as the curtain should be replaced by a cubicle. Pool was lovely as were the sunbeds but no umbrellas, football pitch was a bonus but again there could have been a bit more effort and really calling the hotel the sporting village is a bit of a let down. We prebooked food for our first night charged at 18 euros per person and it was okay but only included a pasta starter, mixed grill including saveloys??? a salad but no desert and no drink so quite poor really. Breakfast was okay but again could have been a lot better and been more home made instead of bought from the local discount store. Staff were and are extremely friendly and the hotel was a good location as the iglesias coast ha to rate as some of the best visually in sardinia, iglesias itself is a lovely town and has some very good bars and restaurants. I felt the hotel which was family run could do so much more better and its the little things that let it down.
Relaxed, friendly and clean.

Our out of season visit to Iglesias limited the choice of accommodation available and we're glad it did. Hotel Sport Village turned out to be ideal for our needs. We originally booked for two nights and ended up staying for four. It was easy to find, just off the SS130 on the way into Iglesias. We arrived early but were given our room immediately. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Including 'Barbo' the dog who seemed very pleased to see us.We had a room facing the road it was clean and comfortable, wifi was available once we had mastered the 18 digit password. Another reviewer mentioned the skills necessary to pick up the soap in the shower, we laughed at this as we shared the same experience. The bed was comfortable but there was some noise from people leaving in the mornings. Breakfast was basic: rolls, toast, pastries, butter and jam and yoghurt. Coffee was good. The restaurant wasn't yet open for evening meals. We were given a late check out without any problem. Overall this was a happy stay and very good value. We will go back to this hotel.
Very pleasant stay, looking forward to next time

We had an early morning flight and arrived nearly 2 hours before the official check-in time, only intending to ask whether we could leave our bags at reception. We were able to check in immediately! :-)
Our room overlooked the pool and was very quiet at night, even though a large group of walkers stayed at the hotel. There was a good size fridge in the room which helped to keep our water and drinks cool. Restaurant meals were excellent on both nights of our stay - although there was no 'official' menu to choose from on the second night and the waitress just asked what we would like to eat. Breakfast was very good for Italian standards (no criticism, you just need to keep in mind that Italian hotels hardly ever include cooked breakfast as a standard!). We enjoyed the outdoor pool which we had to ourselves most of the time. Plants in the garden have grown some more since our stay a few ago, so you hardly notice the village football stadium nearby. There was no match on during our stay, but even several groups training at the stadium and sportsground did not cause any noise issue.
The location of the hotel is easy to find, with signs directing you from the fast road from Cagliari to Iglesias. The hotel does not do lunch, but a large supermarket with plenty of snack food is just down the road, probably even walkable. This hotel is incredibly good value for money and nearby Iglesias and surroundings are worth visiting for a couple of days. Excellent beaches are only 30 minutes away, so it's worth considering at the Sport Village and driving to beaches, if you want to save some money.
Only bad part: Having to leave! And if I get really picky: there was a large pothole in the middle of the gated entrance to the carpark - it is quite easily possible to drive to around it with care, but it would help if it got filled in.

I have never felt compelled to write a review before but we had such a lovely stay at this hotel that I feel I have to recommend It!! Having booked the hotel and read some of the reviews we were apprehensive as to what to expect . Our only hick-up was our Internet booking agent had only booked 5 of us into the hotel and there were 6 ,but the hotel staff were lovely and sorted us out (they could have charged us more but didn't) .it is a great hotel to explore the fabulous beaches and we also discovered a brilliant wake boarding centre close by in Siliqua. The main thing that sets this hotel apart from others we have stayed at was the pizzas in the evening ,generally we would go out and about to discover new restaurants but the food was fab the service perfect and the price pretty good so we ate there most nights. We also had fun with the local ladies doing aqua aerobics in the pool. All in all a great experience.
