Nice rooms with good hospitality
priyamgarg86on 28/05/2017 14:31I booked this hotel for a 3 day trip to Darjeeling and it was a wonderfull experience. The rooms are nice and cozy with all the amenities you need during your stay. They also provide bed heaters which is really handy as it becomes sometime very chilly in Darjeeling. The location of the hotel is near to the clock tower and Keventers, Hasty Tasty and many other eating outlets. The room service is superb and staff is also very coperative. The hotel dont own a restaurant so the food is arranged from outside. The hotel is run by a family which will make your stay pleasant.
A class heritage... wonderful experience
Avijit Gon 27/02/2017 02:38Ever expected a view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and Himalaya view, and it turning into golden fireball while sunrise, without visiting Tiger Hill, and more over sleeping on your bed, that too with that all legendary CLOCK TOWER of Barfi, with its old song ding-dong, acts as an alarm clock when it strikes the 6!!! People would call you mad, and utter sarcasm, and in soft words, in your dreams!!!
Well, they, who say, have not visited springburn. The photos say the rest. Do visit this hotel.
Comfortable, Clean, Convenient, but nothing special
niftysparkon 05/07/2016 11:48This hotel is close to a lot of food places and the Mall area. It was clean and pleasant smelling, including the bathroom. Linens had some stains but minimal, and smelled clean. The rent was 3500/3 person room, during the off season. Staff are extremely helpful and polite. First floor rooms had good Wifi, also was very easy for elderly people. Complimentary breakfast was good, but slow, plan extra time for breakfast. Also, lots of flies in the dining area. Good clean hotel, however, it was not luxurious or special.
Not worth.
smitraon 23/06/2016 13:38To begin with - There's no parking slot neither inside the hotel nor outside. If you are unlucky, your vehicle might get a slot 200 m ahead and then you walk with all your luggage . That's precisely what happened to me.
We had booked for 2 adults plus one 11 year old son, for whom we had paid extra. The room offered to us (through makemytrip.com), just couldn't accommodate 3 people. At night, when we objected, they gave us a basement room. Naturally there could be no views absolutely.
The eating area was really shabby with lots of flies , one dirty ash-tray etc.
They don't even have a running restaurant. They serve only breakfast and dinner buffets.
I see no reason why should one stay over here unless forced to.
Personalised care with well thought out amenities- A Cocoon of warmth and comfort- Springburn
Rajrupaon 21/06/2016 12:19It was indeed a heartwarming experience staying at Spring burn. It is very strategically located a few steps away from Keventers and the clock tower. The white exterior encloses the lovely hues of warmth care and personal touch. The family that owns Springburn exudes unassuming class in their hospitality and small gestures and attention to details. I found a home in Darjeeling at Springburn, along with a splendid view, great housekeeping and a welcome that I will cherish for years to come. Tiny gestures like reminding the guest to call a loved one, to wish a family member or a friend on an anniversary or birthday and such little things along with a fresh towel art to greet you each morning make for things that set them apart. Mr Sunirmal Chakravarthi, a man who is an excellent and captivating conversationalist hailing from a profession where he has groomed young minds and resurrected many educational institutions is an additional charm at Springburn. Mrs Shobha Chakravarthi, a pious, kind and gracious lady takes care to look into all minute details and lends her benevolent personal touch. Their well-mannered son Sujoy who is a student makes it a point to greet the guests graciously. Their family members Ashish the multitalented manager, Anjali and Prerna look into all the departments with loving dedication and earnestness,. They look after the guests beyond the expected norms. If you are unwell they make sure you are taken care off and they do all they can to dispel all gloom. The clock tower looms large behind the hotel and Keventers and Glenarys and the mall itself is a stone’s throw. Thus you will be happily perched in warmth and comfort with quick access to all that you want to reach in Darjeeling.
