What People are saying

Only if desperate

Joerg1on 08/05/2017 11:22

Location is good, but a tiny room, if you have a suite case you have hardly space for you.
If you cannot get else where a place to sleep, then you will survive and I have no complain about staff.
In some advertisements e g hotels.com there is a picture of a shopping center in the town, but the hotel is not in that location but much further down. Next to that shopping center is a hotel (Park hotel) which is first class.

Great hotel, ideal for business travellers

First things first, I do think some of the reviews here have been quite unfair. This is a hotel for a business traveller or anyone else that just needs somewhere to sleep for a night or two in Zug.

The rooms are small, yes - but everything is very adequate! The bed was very comfortable.

The service was also very good. Swen in the front office was very helpful when I accidentally booked myself in for the wrong night.

Overall, there's nothing wrong with this hotel. It's somewhere simple to stay if you need to get your head down. As a negative, I would say the breakfast wasn't great (all cold food), though there's half a dozen places to get a coffee etc within a few minutes walk.

I will most certainly stay again when I return to Zug!

Very bad experience. Avoid this hotel

Showed up after reception had closed. Wasn't clear what I was supposed to do (ended up using ATM-like check-in device). Main complaints:
- Name on building different than name on reservation
- Address not visible on building (didn't have cell service in Switzerland)
- No light to see what you're doing with check-in machine, e.g., how to put your credit card in
- Wireless connection was horrible (slow, spotty)
- Room was probably the smallest I've ever seen (not a big problem for me, but a heads-up)
- Although I closed the shower doors, the entire bathroom flooded during a short shower
- Notice said breakfast doesn't start until 8 (although it was open when I got there at 7:50). This is a bit late for some people's schedules.

I guess the location is OK, but overall, I'll be avoiding this place. Hope the other hotels in Zug are much better. BTW, I've traveled a lot personally and professionally and usually grin and bear the inevitable minor inconveniences. I had a particularly horrible experience here so wanted to share it.

Lacking service

Henrik Aon 23/01/2017 18:23

I was here four days on a business trip with 3 colleagues. The location is good, near the train station. I usually like these kinds of budget hotels, with modern rooms and very little other services. But in this case, there simply is no service thinking:
It is difficult to find the entrance, as the sign is by the shabby kebab restaurant. The reception is really tiny and staffed by bureaucratic people with low customer service skills. We could not even pay for our rooms with a credit card when we arrived, they said it must be done at the end of the stay. Since our CEO who wanted to pay for us all had to leave before us, this was not ideal. She was then told to email her credit card numbers to the hotel!
The rooms are mostly OK and clean, the bed is also good, but the smaller rooms are really tiny. The lighting is very bad, there is no light at all over the desk, so forget about reading anything there if you don't have a flashlight.
The worst problem for me was the wifi it worked very seldom during my 4 days, and never in the evenings. Most of the time it as dead, sometimes it was crawling slowly and a few times it worked. And I have never seen any more cumbersome method for logging in, where you have to get a ticket in the reception for every device with 3 different codes for each, takes forever to login.
So by fixing these service issues this would be a good budget hotel.

Centrally located for a quick visit

Stayed here in a family room as we needed a hotel close to the station and that could accommodate our family group in one room. It was clean with lots of towels, water etc. Kids loved the little frog toys on the bed and the bunk beds. Fresh fruit a nice touch and very helpful staff. It was a short stay but comfortable! Special blue lighting and mirror on the bulkhead was a bit strange. Overall a pleasant place for an overnight transit.
