Disappointment

We stay in this hotel in April, 2017. We were disappointment with the service. When we ask for dinner it was over price compare to other places that we stayed in the Francigena way. We took a bus and went downtown for dinner, we found a very nice Restaurant. At breakfast we ask eggs since we had a long walk ahead of us and the administrator told us they did not have any. The room was ok. Since we had stay through the Francigena way and found excellent service we were surprise with the experience a t the Temopio di Apollo.

Perfetto!! ACCURATE REVIEW - Great Price, Clean, Perfect for our Rome Excursions!

GREAT VALUE!! This hotel was a great surprise. It is in a country setting, but only a kilometer or so from the main road. Very quiet! It is very convenient to Rome, especially if you have a rental car. It is not within walking distance to everything, so do not expect that and then leave a bad review. It is about 40 minutes drive to the bus/tram in Rome. Very easy to drive to every morning that we went to Rome. We parked the car at the tram station and it was about 3-5 Euro for all day parking. You can't beat that. The man running the hotel, Simone, is very helpful and will give you the directions to the parking lot at the tram. He speaks some English and is very willing to help. It was perfect for us because we were on a budget for hotels and did not want to drive around Rome either. (or pay for parking at most of the hotels) This hotel was super quiet and 4 times less expensive than the hotels closer. It was very clean. They may offer more now, but our breakfast was coffee, juice, and a croissant. It was all we needed to get going and get something more once we got out. Those that expect a large American buffet for the price of this hotel are not being fair. You are in Europe and getting a great value at a family run hotel, be happy with that. There is a beautiful patio overlooking the country side and was great for the bottle of wine we bought each day! Also, if it is still open, there was an AWESOME restaurant maybe 1/2 kilometer from the hotel. It is down a dirt road, built into the side of a hill and sits along side of a creek. You would not expect to have a high-end meal in such a place, but we did for probably 60 Euro including all the wine we could handle. (there is also a pizza place just as you turn off of the main road to go the hotel. It was great for bringing back and sitting out on the patio). To sum it up: A nice, clean, quiet, hotel atop a hill with a country setting and castle type ruins in and around it (that have now been renovated into private residences). Great to come back to after a busy day in Rome. I can't remember if there was a TV, but we didn't need it. Also, unless they have added it, no air conditioner, but we were there the last part of July and it stayed cool on top of the hill where the hotel sits. We never needed it, just the fan. It was very pleasant at night. We will stay here the next time we visit Rome. Tell Simone the Clines say Hi!!

An ideal place to stay overnight for pilgrims and travelers on the Via Francigena as we Located in the countryside but before the gates of Rome .

Very nice and welcoming.....

very friendly owners , great value for money, although unfortunately a piece from Rome but during the day well by bus and train to reach

Good one

The terrace offered a beautiful view of the landscape . The adjacent Borgo was delightful . The direct bus connection to the train to Rome very practical.

another plus point is only thirty five minutes from the airport.

Limited Exposure, but Good

We stayed in the hotel during our walk on the Via Francigena to Rome.
Unfortunately, I cannot report on much about the hotel, because we arrived quite late in the day, very tired after a long day of walking and found that their restaurant was closed. The property looked charming, but as it was dark, we didn't get a good view of it. The young lady at reception was "enjoying" her first day on the job, so had limited knowledge to offer, although she was very personable.
Our room was spacious and clean, had a shower but no bathtub.
To the rescue came Simone (the owner?) who found us a restaurant in town (which was very good) and drove us there himself, then arranged with the owner of the restaurant to drive us back to the hotel after dinner, which they did.
Simone was most anxious to help and was effective at doing so.
Unfortunately, we left early in the morning (again, in the dark) so didn't get to experience their breakfast.
No complaints here.
