We had our Zonal sales meeting at Bhubaneswar for our Pharma company . They provided us accommodation at Sutrupti. This hotel is by far the best budget hotel in its segment in bhubaneswar . The food was good , service and all amenities were good.

One of my worst experience while staying at hotels. This hotel is poorly managed, unclean, broken windows and unhygienic. There is a fish market near the hotel, which makes nearby rooms stinking. I won't advise to stay here even if you don't find any hotel in the city. Only two things are good - location and staff's behaviour.

Good budget value for money hotel

Stayed here with wife and kid for 4 days.
Overall, I found it value for money.
Pros:
Good location w.r.t city centre.
Co operative staff.
Spacious room and neat and clean bed.
Breakfast was free but quality of food was average. You can skip it if you dont like it.
Autos and Ola taxis are easily accessible.
Hotel Priya, South cafe are located at 1 km from this hotel and offer good food options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Coffee, tea and milk was available in hotel.
Room service was pretty good.

Consider all this for around 1500/- per night and this is a decent economic option.

Cons:
No balcony.
Fish market nearby, so not a very great experience if you dont like the smell of fish.
Restaurant can be better, breakfast options are sometimes average.
Located slightly off main road, so sometimes locating this may take time.

Poorly maintained rooms, slow response

I stayed at Sutrupti when on a business trip in the month of November. Though wmy colleague and I checked in 2 single rooms and did not have issues in the process, I was met with a very angry manager who was busy screaming at another guest at the reception and this surely put me off. Having a loud argument with a guest in front of another guest is certainly not welcome hospitality!
The rooms are poorly maintained, the bathroom is just about the size of a small restroom. With a lavatory, there is practically no place to stand and take a bath. The drainage for the water outlet is open, with stench emanating from it.
The sheets are dirty, there are bed bugs, the rooms and furniture has not been cleaned for ages.
Whats more, there is constant commotion outside the room all night, from a rickety lift that keeps announcing that the door is not closed properly or staff members who are laughing over jokes and videos they are watching on their phones. Unfortunately, all this can be clearly heard and that means you don't get any sleep at all.
The next morning there was complimentary breakfast that had just 1 dish which was grossly undercooked. No choice was available at all and we checked out hungry. The breakfast facility and the restaurant was even worse.
The hotel is located centrally, that is perhaps the only plus. I would certainly not recommend or look at repeating a visit here. Very disappointed.

Comfortable and Convenient

The hotel is very conveniently located in Unit 4, a place where you can easily get autos to go to different parts of the city. Its also very close to a market for basic conveniences. The rooms themselves are very spacious, with a lot of white light, making it easy to work even late at night. The conference facility is convenient as well, lot of open space which offers a lot of scope for group work. And the food is excellent.
