Quality

Having been recently renovated this hotel is totally up to par with the best there is out there! Fresh modern look, pool and spa, good restaurant (Pacini) clean, great service, beautiful view, easy parking, free internet, little fridg in the room, not expensive, we loved it! You can't go wrong by choosing this place for your stay!

Still under renovation but looking good.

This hotel is central to the town of Alma. It is presently going through a renovation phase and the contractors are busy by 8am. The renos, I'm told by local residents, were due and I have to say that the showers in the renovated rooms are quite nice. Another small pleasantry is how quiet the HVAC system is. I stay in many decent hotels throughout the province and this system is quiet. Pacini franchised restaurant downstairs is convenient and the staff are sharp and quick. Service is fast and the atmosphere is good.

New but not no noise.

-The extraction ventilator of Wachroom is not operate. Imagine a room wiht 4 persons taking shower and going at toilet.
-No ventilation for general room. The breathing is unconfortable and air polluted.

-We get soon wake up (6 am) by the service chariot makin full noise because probbaly not oiled the whells. Was looking like a herror scene...

Good location; very comfortable; lovely staff

I hesitated before booking the hotel as it is a very ugly building from the photos (and indeed in real life). However, it is very comfortable, clean and modern inside and I am glad we did choose it. We stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely room overlooking the river rapids. Beds were very comfortable indeed. Staff in both the hotel and restaurant were immensely helpful, giving us ideas and directions for our trips in the area.

The hotel is in a bit of a dull area but you can walk to some nice restaurants nearby and the hotel also has its own restaurant which is very good. It is very well located to use as a base for exploring the Lac Saint Jean and the Saguenay Fjord. There is plenty of room to park your car (no extra charge).

The hotel has a small pool and hot tub which were nice but the hotel did not appear to be very full when we stayed. If a tour group were to be there (Kuoni uses this hotel on certain tours), it could get rather crowded.

We would definitely stay here again if visiting this area.

River Rapids view

We were fortunate enough to have a great view from our room of the river rapids for the one night we stayed there. They seem to be in the process of up-grading the hallway appearance but the rooms were clean and comfortable. Having a pool and hot tub at the end of a day cycling was very relaxing before heading to supper in a nearby restaurant just down the street. We were doing the Veloroute des Bleuets through a travel agency with breakfast included which provided a good start to our day in the in house restaurant Pacini.
