Magical
anantr82on 21/06/2017 04:09This was my second visit to Van Serai Jageshwar. It's a lovely little places located facing a stunning deodar forest. It is about equidistant from the Dandeshwar and Jageshwar temple complexes. Rooms are beautiful and roomy. The food is vegetarian only because of its proximity to the temples. Each door there has a story. The propeitor has sourced them from places all over the country including one made in Kumaon which has a fascinating craft behind it. It really is a special place. Great for birders, we spotted some 20 species, despite not being total noobs. There are not too may places to stay there so it stays peaceful with the stray car passing by on the way to Jageshwar. Go for a walk at night, it's a wonderful experience.
Ahh.. what do I right and what do I leave! This place is magical.. an adobe out of imagination.
Amol Kon 17/06/2017 15:22The location is perfect as it can get! in the middle of a Deodar forest & yet so near to the hustle and bustle of Jageshwar mandir. The best part of our trip was this let us cut out completely for the couple of days we were here. No TV, No mobile (worked for the staff) - this relaxed us and refreshed us to the core. Also as this place is surrounded by a lot of mystical temples with interesting backgrounds - makes it more magical. For some reason - We found something in the air that made this place - very pleasant and positive. The food is sattvic and amazing, the entire staff is amazing - specially Pratap - who ensured we got all the comfort. We had the opportunity of meeting Mohit - who owns this place and runs Asian Adventure - It was a pleasure Sir. This place shows the time effort and personal touch Mr. Mohit has put in. We are surely going to come back - we have connected with this place. The temples are also mystical and special. We would recommend you to Stay & experience it yourself. Very good place to take nature walks, small treks - the hotel staff can help you. I was traveling with my parents and they loved it too... and specially my Mom, who is a avid devote - gave a super like for Jageshwar and Van Sari.
Quaint and charming
PallaviUdayon 02/06/2017 17:14Van Serai is special and done up in a very arty manner. I stayed here just one night but it was a memorable one.
The staff is very polite and obliging. The food though pure vegetarian, is absolutely delicious.
The Lodge is located a few minutes away from Dhandeswar, a temple that Lord Shiva still visits. It is also just a kilometer away from the Jageshwar Shiva temple.
The only drawback here is that the lodge is sort of built into a cliff, and can be quite steep to reach. At he same time it offers visitors beautiful views. All in all a very comfortable stay.
Amazing experience
noelmenonon 29/05/2017 09:53Visited Jageshwar with fellow wildlifers from work. This little set up in the middle of super tall deodar trees is peaceful, quiet and even has glow worms in the dark to light up the paths leading to the resort. Van serai also has a yoga room and a dedicated spa for its guests if needed. The authentic food here is also a plus, set up in the well decorated dining hall with peaceful music playing in the backdrop. The rooms are comfortable and have all facilities like hot water and charging points as well.
If you're a birdwatcher or a nature lover, then Jageshwar also offers quite the birdlife to walk around and see.
It's truly a magical experience and I'd recommend this to anyone who is visiting Jageshwar on a pilgrimage or just to get away from the noisy cities.
Big Bird Day at Jageshwar
VivekWIldon 22/05/2017 08:42Van Serai is the best place in the Himalayas to be at peace in a deodar forest setting. Yoga, temple visits, it looks like a spiritual nirvana point. But equally interesting is the bird life around the resort and at Vridh Jageshwar. Rufous bellied niltavas, wedge tailed green pigeons, chestnut bellied rock thrushes and peregrine falcons. What more can you expect from a weekend away from Delhi? Greatly recommended for both mind and soul.
