Very bad experience at hotel Vijayraj for my stay on 26th November, 2016
Samir Bon 28/11/2016 09:47We booked this hotel Non-AC room from makemytrip for 26th November, 2016 for one night stay. I got confirmation voucher as well. We went to Hotel Vijayraj at around 4 PM on 26th November, 2016. On our arrival, the front office staff said, they are overbooked and do not have room vacant for us. He said it's mistake from their side, that they were not able to book a room for us despite of having confirmed room booking from makemytrip. And he has given us option to stay in a nearby hotel instead.
The said nearby hotel, he took us there. It was very cheap. No car parking, suffocating rooms, pretty bad. The guy then given us option to have Auto Rikshaw to park our car in Hotel Vijayraj and commute to the optional cheap hotel he was suggesting. We denied the option, as I do not trust this guy. We had little debate over this issue. I got angry on him, and asked him to cancel our reservation. Now he made a phone call to someone, and said, there is now a room available in original Hotel Vijayraj, and he is ready allot us the room as per our makemytrip booking.
This entire process took around 1.5 to 2.0 hours of our travel time. It was completely waste of time. The guy was not at all helpful, when we asked him how can they do such a mistake, he replied "Mistake has happened, now they are helpless. They cant do anything about it." .
Pathetic experience! I will not go to Hotel Vijayraj again.
Classy hotel at low cost
Vicky2trickyon 19/06/2016 16:54We were here for some business work.. it is one of d most reasonable and reknown hotels in kolhapur. It's located in the main locality , you can say in the heart of kolhapur. The services are average, didn't try food. However, they have a stomach filling breakfast for free. The bathroom accessories are lavish and far more classy then what you are paying...
Ok but not worth
Snehal Gon 03/07/2015 13:27The hotel is good but not valur for money . In the price 1000~1200 you will get best place to stay nearby area of the main bus stand. The Hotel is @ walking distance from the bus stand if you are coming here 1st time please do not pay 30-40 Rs to rickshaw from bus stand better take 5 min walk.
The conditions of the room is not good but if you are going to stay only for 1 day & no option in case then this is ok but again not best. The toilets are clean (only) & sleeping quality is also ok. TV remote was not working and please carry your own towels . this is actually basic Hotel so do not expect much.
Pathetic Ac and rooms and bathrooms.
SachinLondheon 29/05/2015 21:55staff is courteous, rooms need renovation, this hotel looks like it is not renovated since last 20 years looking at curtains wall color bathroom fittings tv telephone and most pathetic was AC. I was in room no 110 and it was horrible.

Pros- centrally located, quite near to the Mahalakshmi temple.
All famous eateries are nearby.
Cons-
Room with western toilets are a nightmare; the throne rocks and takes you on a joyride on a very wrong time!!!!
PS; AC rooms are not advertised over any travel portal, call the hotel & book; you will save!
Don't rely on Google maps in the city; you will end up wasting time; ask the localities for directions to Padma guest house & Raj mandir (visit mandatory if you have a foody tooth)
