Hotel looks nice from outside, it’s lobby as well, however it needs a lot of improvements and refurbishment.
Rooms are comfortable with a small terrace but the furniture is quite old and beds not very comfortable.
Bathrooms are old, hairdryer didn’t work, and the hot and cold faucet that is totally old fashioned.
Service is restaurant is slow and there are not enough plates, cups and cutlery. Often you would have to wait till it’s washed and also waiting on some water and scrambled eggs is required if you want it.
Personnel is polite, kind and helpful.
Location is good and easily accessible even on foot from the city center.

Spent 4 nights in this hotel in October while on an escorted tour of Lisbon and Porto. Our room was on the 5th floor and although it was large it was very old fashioned and the carpet had seen better days. There was not much of a view from our window. Did feel that I could not walk around with bare feet as the carpet was so dirty. Contacted our tour manager and we were offered another room on the 8th floor. It was like a different world ! Great view of the city with tiny balcony. Much better decor and decent carpet. never noticed the traffic noise though we did close the windows at night. Must say we found most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The location of this hotel close to metro and if you prefer to walk into town it took about 10 to 15 minutes. Mostly up hill on the way back though.Had perfect weather during our stay. Shame about the first room we had been offered.

A bit dated and old fashioned, old school hotel with excellent location close to metro stop Marques Pombal. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the centre by foot, and you have a nice, big park very close (Parque Eduardo VII).
The room was very large, one room and one "hall way" with lots of places to hang clothes on, which I really liked.
Wifi was good and free. Staff was nice.

This hotel is dated but we liked it because of the very kind staff and the wonderful location. We were within walking distance of excellent restaurants, the metro and the Gulbenkian Museum. We had great views from our room's balcony. You can get a much fancier hotel at a higher price but if you simply want a comfortable bed and a good shower plus attentive staff, this hotel is just fine. The breakfast buffet is very good.

The hotel is very old fashioned with very tired furniture and facilities. Couldn't adjust the shower handle, it was broken, at least one lamp in the room didn't have a light bulb, the room had very poor lightning, overall very depressing environment in the bedroom. Breakfast was good though.
The hotel is very central and it was close to my conference centre and it was rated as 4* therefore I booked it. I think they either need to downgrade it to 3* or lower the price.
