What People are saying

Extremely rude

Dennis Non 09/04/2017 09:33

Let me first start saying I did not stay at this property, therefore the review is not about the rooms, property, food etc.

I booked via booking.com two rooms for two secutive days in August. I called the next day to ask something about the rooms and possibilites to the festival nearby Geel (location was very important to us). A men picked up the phone en asked which reservation, so far so good. When he saw it was a booking made by Booking.com (as a third party) he gave a lecture for 20 minutes that third party reservations are so anonymous and they complain at me without knowing me. He used a metahpore about wanting bread but not going by yourself to the bakery, you ask someone else, but you complain to the bakery when not sarisfied. Serious, in my life I have not been insulted like this before by phone or in person. He was talking and talking and making insinuations about customers from booking.com

When asked why he was still on booking, no reply.

I finally asked what I wanted to know. His answer: I will not do any effort for you guys. I hung up politely and cancelled my reservation.

This man is an insult fot the hotel industry. I hope he will not treat his guests like this.

We are staying at Fauwater now, we had a nice phonecall and looking foward to staying there.

Not impressed

To be fair if it wasn't for the friendly staff I wouldn't rate this place so high.
Well situated, and all the staff I met were very polite and helpful and all spoke good English
This place is in serious need of a refurbishment, room was poor, door damaged with the inside handle falling off, carpet in the room was in desperate need of replacing.
Breakfast room was well set out and seemed to be clean, food was ok.
The hotel owners in my opinion really need to spend a few €€€€'s and get this place up to standard.
Would I stay here again...possibly, but only after it has had some tlc

Terrible room

jelle_maeson 14/02/2016 17:54

We did not expect too much of the hotel when looking at the pictures, but paying 110 EUR for this room, which was extremely small, was not worth it. If we have to put a decent value on it, it would not be worth more than 25-30 EUR per night. It took us a few minutes and several hits on the 'bell' before someone actually came. It was extremely cold in the room and it took 5 hours for the heater to get it a bit warmer. It was a traditional electric heater and very old. The bed was very small and pillows were not sleeping well. It was an extremely terrible night. Every 30 minutes the fridge made a lot of noise which even got the bed shaken. The minibar contained a few bottles of water and nothing more. There was a paper with information on what should be available on the minibar, but nothing was there. When we mentioned it, they said you could get some things from the vending machine at the entrance of the hotel, that was the actual replacement of the minibar. The rooms itself could be entered with a physical key. When the door was closed, you could still enter the room at any time, which was not very secure (you had to physically put the key and turn it in to get it closed off again). Breakfast we had was very poor. Overall, this hotel is not suitable for the normal guest or couple. The manager mentioned it was a business hotel and while I have my own business, I would not put any of my staff in there, certainly not for that amount they are charging. This was a one time trip and we never plan on going back. One positive thing, the breakfast was included.

Friendly service

Hotel has recently been refurbished and it's a good improvement. Rooms are practical and comfortable. Staff are friendly and the food in the restaurant and breakfast is typical easy food, well prepared and presented.
