Short weekend break
Mike_Devonon 17/06/2016 00:51Stayed here for one night with friends on a break to Belgium. Situated just off the N49 road in the hamlet of Hoeke. The location is perfect - right by the Damse Vaart canal, a very rural setting. The hotel itself has a bar serving a huge range of local beers and snacks, all of which are reasonably priced. The room I had was comfortable, big bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The desk area was tiny, and, my only gripe about this place, I could not get onto the free Wi-Fi that is advertised for the whole stay. The staff are welcoming and very efficient, the breakfast was the high point - plenty of choice and tasty too.
Car parking is plentiful and the grounds/gardens are well tended and relaxing.
The friends I stayed with said that they had to keep their window closed due to the noise from the main road.
It's a perfect location for cyclists, a few miles from Damme and Bruges one way, and Sluis in the other. Will definitely stay again.

Onwers are very nice,they speak english,french and flemish :)
A very correct buffet is proposed for the breakfast with fresh fruits,cereals,tea,coffee,ham and cheese,croissants,jam,etc,,,
The hotel is 12mns to Bruges city,10mns to Knokke beach and 10 mns to the beautiful village of Sluis (NL)
There is a bar and a restaurant into the Welkom hotel with a large choice of beers to drink on a sunny terrace in front of the canal.
I recommend this hotel.
Road tripper
David Mon 15/09/2013 20:05Spent 2 nights at this hotel, cracking little place off the beaten track, but Damme and Bruges easy to get too along tree and canal lined avenues. Over a hundred beers on offer . Basic but spotless and more than enough at breakfast take your own travel kettle and brew kit as there's none in the room
Cycling break
sheila bon 10/07/2013 14:35We spent 3 nights at this delightful hotel which is situated between Sluis and Damme and only 7 mile cycle ride along the canal to Brugge. The room was spotlessly clean, the beds comfortable and plenty of hot water 3 essential things if you have spent the day cycling. Breakfast was excellent,a large choice for a small hotel, and we ate in the Taverne in the evening, there was not a large choice but the food was excellent and reasonably priced. All in all a very nice place to spend a holiday.
A good breakfast
Dentaltouriston 19/09/2012 09:18We had booked a triple room at the Hotel Welkom. The first point I would make is that this clearly was not a triple room. What would have been a reasonable sized room for two was cramped with three beds. The room was clean enough and had everything you would need but it was rather dated. On a positive note breakfast was excellent which is the only point that takes my rating beyond average.
