Scammers! Stay away!

These people are scammers! Every review proves it!
I booked a Superior Quadruple Room, with Lake View. The room they put us in was on the 4th floor and the elevator was not working. There was no lake view, unless you hang half your body out the window. There were also no bath towels, just a few hand towels that could be used to sand wood. There were huge windows on the room, and the curtains were very thin, the room was hot in the morning because of the sun. Also, it was extremely noisy. Not clean either. The hostel I stayed near Zaanse Schans was better than this!
When I complained to the front desk, the receptionist told me she was going to check and get back to me in a couple of minutes. She never got back to us. When I checked out, there were different people at the front desk, so I complained one more time. The man who looked like the manager or owner, asked me how many people I had in the room and how much I had paid for it. I answered that we had 2 adults and 2 children, and what we had paid for a Superior Quadruple Room, with Lake View, but didn't get that. His answer was "You have to agree with me that it was really cheap for 4 people" (like I was lucky to even get the horrible room I got). I told him that if he thought that it was too cheap, they should raise the price of the room instead of selling what they didn't have. Also, when I complained about the towels, he told me that they were a studio not a hotel and we should have brought our own towels. There was no mention of this on the description of the hotel/room.
I left the place upset, without any compensation for the trouble.
I booked it through Orbitz, and because it was a "hotel collect" type of booking, Orbitz wouldn't give me a refund. I wish I had read the reviews because every single person there was complaining about basically the same things: not getting what they booked, and rude customer service.
I want to warn you because this hotel location is really convenient, but they are scammers, nothing more than that. The pictures they have on their site are nothing like what we got: cheap wooden bunk beds, and a dirty, old bathroom that smelled like urine...

Use another hotel

We arrived early. Came back three hours after check in. Our room was not ready. He showed us to another room. No elevator working. Walked up many flights of stairs with our suitcases.Very plain very very small balcony. Lovely view from the balcony. About a 20 minute walk to the beach. Scheveningen. The sign outside says breakfast. No breakfast. Free Wi-Fi. No Wi-Fi. In the rooms you have to go downstairs and sit in a small lounge. Looks like an old restaurant. Not impressed at all.

Don't even consider to book this for your holidays!

We booked the room on a short notice for one night at booking.com. The property is run down and the girl behind the reception is not really interested in guests. The walls are thin and thus you can hear everything from other rooms. The name Comfort-Inn at booking.com is a fake and the house number is actually 70 and not 68. I assume this is just a way to avoid a matching of the offer with the bad reviews of the property at other sites like this.

For my opinion the owner of this property just wants to get as much money out of it as long as possible. This is a pity as the house itself and the location have a lot of potential, but it must cost a fortune to renovate it.

In summary, staying for one night is OK if you find nothing comparably cheaper, but do not even consider to book this for your holidays!

Do not stay here.

Good: Nice outlook onto a park & waterway at the rear of the property. The bed was comfortable. The tram to the city stops close by. The guy on reception was jolly and very helpful. Good WiFi.

Bad: The on-line pictures of the rooms looked a lot better than the real thing!! This place looks and is more like a HOSTEL than a hotel/apartment. The furniture and fittings are worn, shabby and dirty. Two power points near the kitchenette did not work. Some lights also did not work. The towels were tiny (like hand towels). The cost of parking is high considering the remoteness of the accommodation and the availability of parking in near streets. Worst of all there were other issues that were edited out of our review!! - Would not stay here again & would not recommend!

Awful service - waste of your money - SCAM!!

3 days before our stay we called the hotel to let them know we would arrive at 1AM only; they said it's no problem. When we arrived, however, they had NO room for us and gave us a hostel room in the city centre 3km away.

When we arrived there and opened the door, the room was already TAKEN and someones clothes there everywhere! We could have robbed them or even disturbed them in their sleep. So we went back to the hotel and after 20 mins they gave us an unmade room: remains in the toilet, hairs in the shower and on the bed linen & pillows - it was disgusting.

We knew we would get no other place to stay at 3 AM in the morning, so we accepted this room and slept in the dirt.

We complained both to the hotel and Expedia. The hotel service was so rude and shouted at us!! Expedia finally managed to refund us for the trouble we had.

To say that this was the worst stay we ever had at a hotel is an understatement. DO NOT WASTE MONEY and stay somewhere else.
