Holiday in Kashmir

The houseboat is set on beautiful Dal lake, surrounded by mountains, and we were blown away by the beauty of it all. We were made to feel completely at home, and everyone was friendly. The service was good, and definitely surpassed our expectations. This is definitely one of the best holidays I have experienced. Unforgettable.

Goh Ron 23/07/2017 15:20This is a very nice and comfortable place to stay. We stayed for 2 nights and the services are extremely superb. The rooms and toilets are clean.The chef cooked very delicious food for every meals. The butler services is more than super. The boatmen are very concern with safety, humorous, friendly, courteous and helpful all the time. The boathouse is very nicely decorated with nice wall design and antiques furniture in the living and dining rooms. Overall environment is perfect for anybody to live comfortably and for good relaxation.

Maureensjleeon 20/07/2017 02:10Fed us very well each homemade meal with Abdul the super professional butler and Akbar the awesome cook whipping up mostly Kashmiri and some international cuisines. Moreover our safety as top priority in our travels out to the different areas. Whole crew (boat crew, guide and drivers) are very friendly, attentive and accomodating. Rooms are very well kept and clean. Homely cosy feeling in the boat house with a garden.
Boathouse on Dal Lake
mochafrappvention 10/07/2017 17:37Upon reaching Dal Lake, we are ferried by shikara (water taxi) to the boathouse. The boathouse is very clean and very well maintained. It is adorned by kashmirian wood carvings and furniture. There are 2 rooms, one of them comes with attached bathtub and toilet. The dining area is in the living room hall and every meal is served by our butler, Mr Hassan. He is very kind and always make sure that we are well taken care of. The food is delicious, always freshly prepared and served hot. We feel at home throughout our stay and highly recommend this unique experience, you will not be disappointed. Dal Lake is very beautiful and you can experience it right from the porch and via the shikara rides. Our shikara boatman, Mr Yaseen, is a very helpful young man, always helping out with our luggage and sharing with us more about Kashmir during the rides. This aside, we would like to mention our gratitude towards Shalimar Travels, Mr Ashraf, our guide Mr Yacob and driver Mr Rashid for the impeccable service and teamwork in making our trip to Kashmir and unforgettable one.
