Do not put your health at risk by staying here.
pryors67on 17/11/2017 08:49I am writing to express my horror at the state of the accommodation called “Peacock Meadows” belonging to the house of laurels.Which we stayed at on Thursday 26th October and Friday 27th October this year. as it stands I can only call it verging on being derelict and could not even give it 1 star. The place is unhealthy to stay in. The overall presentation shows the place is in dire need of general maintenance.
Possum's Tail Cottage by House of Laurels - Excellent
BrizSandyon 16/11/2017 06:46We stayed for a couple of nights in August in the 'Possum's Tail' Cottage by House of Laurels in Maleny. What a beautiful setting and a fantastic place to get away from it all. The cottage has everything you would need. Two bedrooms, good bathroom and a laundry (Washing machine) downstairs. Upstairs was a large lounge, dining, kitchen. And to top it off they provide you a lovely Moroccan Meal and a bottle of wine. The meal is ample for 4 people but as we were staying as a couple it did us for 2 nights. It was delicious. The balcony off the lounge is so nice to sit out on. Kookaburra's visit and you see plenty of other wildlife. Nice views of the surrounding hills and farms. It is set in a bushy location so you will get webs in the higher windows but this is certainly not a problem just part of the charm. Highly recommend this place.
Lovely country cottage
Mark Aon 07/11/2017 00:20Returned to stay in lovely Peacock Meadows cottage for our country retreat. Love the self check in for convenience to find lights on and music playing. New furniture since our last stay. Just a lovely quaint cottage. Had a lovely in house meal and bottle of wine waiting for us upon arrival. The cottage is clean and very well presented. Would recommend staying there.
Do not stay at this establishment
Shirley Ron 02/11/2017 10:27We arrived at House of Laurels in Maleny on 25th Oct 2017 and we could not believe the condition and filth of the accommodation we were put into. There was no one to greet you, just a key left in a door. We were in Badgers Wood it was in a hollow you couldn't get WI Fi and it was dark and dingy. We don't know when the unit was last used or checked for maintenance or cleanliness. The odour was shocking. The floor had to be swept and mopped before we could take our shoes off. We had to put water down the floor drain in the bathroom as it stank, extractor fan would not work as it was full of fluff and dirt, mildew on the ceiling. Kitchen garbage bin had not been emptied and had rotten empty dog food containers in it. Frig had to be cleaned. Spiders running around the floor and walls, thank goodness we found a can of mortein. The weather was 31 degrees and the air conditioner would not work. We had gone for a wedding and as soon as that was over we left a day before we were to check out. We booked and paid for 4 nights in advance. Requested a cottage and were given a bedsitter with no laundry facilities. We were given one towel each to last 4 days and no way of washing or drying them. Bed linen was sus. I wish I had read your reviews before choosing this horrid place. My advise is do not stay there.
Homely but needs some TLC
Susan Bon 10/09/2017 22:51We stayed for 2 nights in the Peacock cottage. We enjoyed the privacy and the cottage is comfortable and homely. Needs some love though as very dated and tired. We got an unpleasant smell occasionally from the downstairs toilet and the remotes for the aircon and TV did not work.
