What People are saying

No Frills but gets the job done

Elizabeth Don 13/04/2017 23:07

This hotel is safe, clean and basic, pretty much what we expected. The restaurant is fine with a good breakfast buffet. Nothing to write about other than it served the purpose of a place to stay for a night while traveling through. I suppose I should give it a 2 plus or 3. It's a basic, average hotel.

Excellent

Hotel is very good with respect to location.
Swimming pool and restaurant area is also very beautifull.

Covered by lot of happening places nearby.
Breakfast include varety of food.

And staff here is very very cooperative

How did this ghetto place get 4.5 stars?

Loren Aon 02/02/2017 08:22

Not sure where to start with this. I can't give it on star because I am sure there are worse flee infested motels that I wouldn't even consider staying in, but this place is close. First for an American brand nobody spoke English. Luckily my wife is Latino, so she had to translate.

The neighborhood is pretty scary too. During the day is fine, but I wouldn't go out at night.

The place was in disrepair. The gym was barely functional. Even the pool was out of order when we were there.

I think the worse part of the stay was that the AC could not keep the room cool. It wasn't even a particularly hot day either (mid 80's)

Comfortable and Friendly

I've stayed here now on three different occasions and planning on my fourth this coming January-February 2017.
I've always found the staff to be polite and friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable. They do, however, need a little updating, particularly if the hotel wants to continue competing with some of the newer hotels "en el norte".
Other notes:
- Location is excellent; you can walk or take public transport to pretty much anywhere in the city, and without spitting distance is a large grocery store (always a plus when I travel).
- Very good (and reasonable) laundry service.
- For some reason, the second floor is used for all sorts of job interviews so if you end up on that floor, there are people coming and going all hours of the day.
- Nice complimentary breakfast, except you have to beg for that second cup of cafecito.

No real issues, could just use a bit of work on a few bits....

Given the timing of our stay (Colombia vs Chile match in town) the prices for the rooms were at their peak. Due to this we paid top dollar for the room, and when this occurs you tend to question what value you get for it.

I agree with all previous comments regarding the standard of english at front desk (and throughout the hotel), it is basically zero, luckily my wife is a local so with her it was no problem, without her it would've been tough.

Rooms are large, but need a bit of modernising, or just some really good maintenance. Shower heads not fully functional (just need a clean), and overall rooms are a bit dated, but very comfortable with good air-conditioning.

I thought breakfast options were very good, but caters to local tastes (which Im now used to).

In general everything was fine, some of the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, others not so much (like most hotels I guess).

For me the only reason I couldnt rate the experience a solid 4 stars was simply that I didnt get much value due to the elevated room prices. Had I gotten a much cheaper rate the overall perceived value would have been better.
