Family run hotel
simonu1967on 15/04/2017 14:58Great location by the bottom of the Bendolla gondola. When its sunny great to sit outside. Service is friendly. Food is fine and after a morning on the slopes it hits the spot, just remember you are in Switzerland so nothing is really ever great value.
Good restaurant, open all day long
Cristi_an3000on 29/09/2016 09:35In my opinion, the highlight of this restaurant is the fact that it's open all day long. Finding a place to eat in Grimentz in low-season after 20:00 hours in the evening can be difficult. We arrived in Grimentz from our 1-day trip to Gronergrat pretty late, and we had no idea if we can find some place to eat. Our hotel's restaurant (Cristal) was close in that day so we were out of options. The supermarket was also close at that time so we were very lucky to find this restaurant open.
We chose pasta and some local traditional dish, I don't remember the name, but it's some kind of hamburger with bacon embedded in local cheese and baked in a clay pot. Very very tasty, we ate this two days in a row.
The staff young and polite, also provided some fruits syrup for our son, free of charge.
The minus could be the prices, but this is Switzerland, can't complain about it too much, we know it from the start.
PS: in attention of moderators: this restaurant should have its own topic on GRIMENTZ RESTAURANTS category. Otherwise people will keep posting restaurant experiences in this hotel's section.
An excellent family friendly restaurant in Grimentz
hookyBucks_UKon 26/03/2016 20:14We were staying in an excellent apartment for skiing in this beautiful location and had dinner here on our last night.
We were a party of 6 including 2 children on 9 and 6. The service by the young staff was excellent and the food for both adults and children perfect. The tables are spacious and the picture windows overlook the valley and ski gordola complex. This was Friday evening and it was full so very pleased that we had pre-booked. Earlier there was live apres-ski music including some great rock and roll to get everyone dancing in the street.
Back to the food, the adults had beef fondu and chips; plenty of it and good quality. I had cafe goumand after which the grandchildren helped consume having already had pasta followed by ice cream. Definitely a great place to eat in Grimentz.
Great food with friends
MJMACLLHon 09/03/2016 14:21Large restaurant attached to this popular hotel and bar. Friendly and welcoming staff. Two good menu's to choose from with a good wine selection. All starter and main meals were delicious and reasonably priced. Although busy on arrival the restaurant was very quiet by 9.30pm.

R Zon 05/02/2016 09:50Went there with a couple of friends for a long weekend. Totally overprized for what it is, though the waitress (in the evening) was very friendly. Small rooms medium clean and the receptionist barely spoke something else then french.
Shockingly, the kitchen was closed in the morning, so no way of getting even scrambeled eggs....a disgrace to all hotels in switzerland.
A pity...Grimentz is such a beautiful spot.
