Rather simple but OK
terbangon 02/06/2017 11:12The Chris'tel is a rather simple hotel, it reminds a bit of a hostel. The biggest problem is that it has no air con and one can't leave the windows open due to the street noise. It has double windows so it's OK when it's cold. If you can live with that and the simple style it's OK.
Nice hotel - I'd stay here again
Paul Mon 20/03/2017 16:23From the outside this hotel looks rather uninspiring. Actually it's very pleasant. The room was good, and a generous size. The breakfast was excellent. The lady on reception was charming - she spoke about as much English as I speak French (not a lot) so that was fun.
I clearly came in the quiet season. The car park was empty, and there was no-one else at breakfast. I guess that's why the restaurant was closed in the evening - which was a pity, but did make me go out into the town centre.
The wifi is very good - of course lots of people staying there might change that.
The car park is not very easy to see when arriving in the dark - so I overshot and parked on the next turning. It's not huge, so I guess when the hotel is fuller it will be tight.
The location is not right in the centre, but it's walking distance (10 minutes walk or so). My room was probably about the only place in Le Puy not to have a view other than the block opposite, but I arrived late and left early so who cares.
I'd stay here again if / when visiting Le Puy.
Clean and comfortable
Tony Hon 19/02/2017 12:52With free parking on site, a clean, comfortable room and plain but satisfying meal this was a good place to reach at the end of a 500 mile drive. Like many UK and European hotels in all price ranges, Chris'tel seems to have pared back staff levels to a minimum but those who are left are friendly and hard-working.

Dinie450on 10/10/2016 14:13We spent one night here before starting on the chemin de St. Jacques. The hotel is quite well located in tow and we were pleased to have parking provided. The service was poor however except for the very kind and helpful concierge. OK for a stopover.
OK hotel, pretty well located
KatetSebon 23/08/2016 19:08OK, so you're not in the very city center, but really not too far! You can also park your car for free which is great in a city like Le Puy en Velay!
The hotel itself is a bit old fashioned, but then again nice and clean.
Only thing we did not really like is there is no air conditioning! And it can get really hot at night! Free wifi works fine.
All in all, we recommend this hotel!
