The Food Was Incredible!!!!!!!!

Joanna jon 11/05/2016 21:23

Truly magnificent service, food was incredible, the steak was perfect, baked Alaska out of this world. When we asked for some mayonnaise there was a 5 minute wait while the chef made it fresh. Room was simple, clean, and there was a jacuzzi in the bathroom.

A quick stay in the French countryside

Silvia Con 07/07/2015 21:34

We stayed at this hotel for just 1 evening, for a wedding, so we almost booked the entired hotel for that. The experience was overall nice, but we had mixed feedback from members of the psrty, depending on the room allocated. Our room was very nice, newly decorated and appeared to us as a mirage after a long journey in such a hot weather! Some of our frieds were not so lucky, ending up on the main road side in rooms that needed a bit of a makeover, so whatch out which side you are ending up in!
They have also a very nice room for breakf-dinner, but the overpriced breakfast of 9euros per head made us change our mind seeking confort elsewhere. Probably it's best ordering a coffee and a croissant at their bar rather than facing the bill for 2 formal breakfasts! Some people tried to stop for lunch, with waiting times quite unbearables (more than 20min just to place the order) and 1hr wait for food..some people roomed the village in search of alterntive places to eat.
Service was ok...despite you probably need to grasp some french as I ended up translating for various guests! Despite a note in the room saying that an iron board would have been available on demand, when asking for some ironing services I was quite frankly told to go to the dry cleaners in the town centre and wait 2 days!! Luckily a very nice lady from the staff volunteered to do it (we paid her of course) and she put us out of our misery.
Overall we paid 66 euros x night without breakfast, which was fine for our room, but other guests found it a bit unpleasant to fork out that amount for their older decorated rooms.

Second pre Christmas rendevous

michaelallastonon 10/12/2013 10:05

It is 2 years since we met our french friends for lunch at this venue.
I do feel that the standard has declined since our previous visit.
For starter three of us chose the hot goats cheese dish which was very good but the beef which we all chose varied from good to tough & grissley.
The menetou salon wine was good.
The waitress was quite efficient but was not a happy & never smiled.

Pre Xmas rendezvous

michaelallastonon 07/12/2011 16:58

We had our annual pre Christmas rendezvous with our French friends at the above hotel.
We found the staff polite & efficient and the dining room where we met for Sunday lunch was clean & cosy.
Menu selection was very good varying between £20 & £40. The wine list was quite good for a small hotel.
I would recommend this reasonably priced hotel for anyone passing this way.
