Always a perfect welcome and joyful stay
Humphry Eon 25/04/2017 09:24This charming hotel is deservedly popular - not just for its superb position and seaside views, but also for the delightfully warm welcome every time we go. Moreover if you need help with anything - ideas, taxis, directions for garden visits, trains to Rouen, Paris etc, room choice, discounts, the charming staff are always willing. The breakfast is good and plentiful, the rooms clean; there is an excellent library with interesting books in at least French and English, a little bar and courtyard - all recently and pleasantly renovated - everything indeed to make this a little home from home. It's an easy foot passenger journey from Newhaven too, much better than flogging through Gatwick! but travel light and take cases on board or you may have a lengthy wait for bags while everyone else disembarks on your return to Newhaven.
Tips: visit Restaurant New Haven, Cafe de Paris both on Quai Henri IV, and Traitteur Divernet in La Grande Rue. You'll have a great time!

Ian Mon 29/01/2017 16:08Really pleasantly surprised. Stayed here overnight whilst waiting for ferry home. Hotel clean and tidy and rooms the same. We stayed in a family room. Breakfast was good also. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

fudgjofon 26/11/2016 09:51Stayed here for 1 night lovely warm welcome, and they really helped us as we don't speak a word of French. Comfortable room only down side no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, checked out at 11 next morning and as our ferry wasn't leaving until the evening they looked after our luggage for us as we were foot passengers. We will definitely return.
Very good hotel overlooking sea front.
Nomadtourist37on 20/09/2016 21:56Had booked in for 3 nights, Room not ready when we arrived but upgraded to a sea view room with terrace for extra 10E/ night. There is a lift. Room overlooked the sea front and was spacious with a large bathroom with a jacuzzi bath only with no overhead shower, only a hand held shower wand.
Breakfast typical continental choice, prepared coffe was a bit weak but a double expresso with a drop of hot milk from the coffee machine helped.
Although you can park in front of the hotel to drop luggage off; the only parking is out on the street in front and its free but it is very busy, you could be lucky and get a spot near the hotel.
From the hotel there is a walk of about 200 metres, and you are on the harbour for an excellent choice of restaurants and the pedestianised shoppoing street. A
All staff were helpful and attentive.

SennonLegendon 17/09/2016 18:57Great 👍 hotel, in a great 👍 position, friendly welcoming staff, rooms are adequate, don't expect luxury or even a great view but this is a great little hotel that served our needs well, clean and comfortable.
