Great place to stay halfway between Northern France and Bordeaux
Pechfoodloveron 08/01/2017 06:40The reasonably priced hotel was chosen as it was the midway point of our journey south to Bordeaux. It is in a charming town undiscovered by tourists and therefore a pleasure to explore and stroll around. The staff were very happy we had chosen this town as our stop over and I would highly recommend it if you want to get off the beaten track and still experience a medieval town at the centre.

It was a fine choice, nice room, elevator (after two hotels with none), friendly/helpful staff, and good restaurant. There is free parking to 9am. On top of all that the cost was less than I expected, $75 euro.
Best value French hotel we've ever stayed in.
Phil654321on 14/10/2016 15:43Big room, lovely bed, quiet despite bus & rail stations just outside. Good restaurants attached. Easy parking. Quick entry & departure at reception. Stayed Oct 2016. Only had time for a quick walk around the town but it seemed clean & safe.
Stopover on the way south
AbarthAlon 13/09/2016 15:19We booked online and, whilst one never really knows what to expect, we were very pleasantly surprised. It's a lovely old building, but the room and facilities were all of a very good standard. The welcome we had was lovely, made all the better by being able to park our car for free right outside! The lady on reception gave us a glowing review of the town and where we could go to see some of it and where there were places to eat. We were on our way south and had driven all day from Calais so the fact that we enjoyed both Montlucon and the hotel was a real treat. We were able to start the next day with a lovely breakfast which kept us going until well after lunch time. We'd definitely stop over here again.
Cycle friendly
David_Roon 24/07/2016 21:03I was travelling by bicycle and had requested a safe place to store my bike overnight. The staff invited me to store it in the lounge!
The hotel is close to the station and with 10 minutes walk of the city centre. The external of the building suggests quite an old hotel but inside the facilities were fairly modern. A pleasant overnight stop.
