Great road trip stop
Tim Son 19/05/2017 08:16Best hotel on our road trip so far. Excellent rooms, attentive staff, excellent food and great location. Dining room setting in the lake is fantastic and a nice after dinner stroll around the lake. Well worth a visit
Great lunch

Fantastic location and food cooked to a high standard with unhurried yet attentive service. I had monkfish and Some very tender lamb and my wife had salmon cannelloni followed by John Dory both of which were 'delicious'. All in all a very pleasurable experience and one we intend to repeat.
Basically fine, good for a rest but not much going on around.
NorfolkCommonManon 21/07/2016 13:16Nice setting, on the edge of a lake, nice comfortable room. We wondered why the management had put ear plugs in the room until the night... The frogs in the lake were deafening! OK with the windows shut, but as there was a misunderstanding about the air-conditioning, this was not switched on the first night (of two) and we had a terrible night, as it was hot and humid.
Nice breakfast; we didn't try the hotel restaurant for dinner. These's not a lot going on around Hagetmau, but we travelled to the rose garden - LA ROSERAIE DE SAINT-VINCENT, which was a beautiful place with a really nice terrace restaurant.
Also a chance visit to the Chateau de Momas - a lovely quiet garden with a personal tour by the owner's grandson was a really relaxing visit.

The view during the meals is awesome !!!!but the best of all are the people that work there!!!!the owner and his daugther are always around helping guests
Excellent Food and Good Room

We took a Brittany Ferry to Bilbao and then drove into France, stopping initially in the Pyrenees and journeying on to the Dordogne and finally catching a ferry home from Ouistreham. The road trip was a combined gourmet experience and sightseeing trip. All the hotels we stayed at were in the Logis Network. The Logis Network is a group of independently owned hotels and restaurants renowned for their regional cuisine. Each hotel is graded in terms of it’s comfort and quality. This is shown by the number of fireplaces, from 1 to 3 and there is an “Exceptional” which is a very highest quality and service. For dining there are again four classifications. These are graded in terms of cooking pots from 1 to 3 and a higher classification of “Table Distinguée”. Details of Logis can be found on their web site or in a Logis Brochure, which can be obtained from any Logis Hotel or Restaurant. This is a review of one of the hotels we stayed at. We stayed for one night at the Hotel Des Lacs. The hotel is situated outside of Hagetmau in large grounds and overlooks a lake. The hotel is very modern, (see photos) and the restaurant has been built above the lake. There is private parking outside the front of the hotel. The hotel had a nice, but small, indoor swimming pool. This is the only hotel that we stayed at which was rated a Logis d’Exception and the only hotel restaurant rated as Table Distinguée. Our room overlooked the lake and the restaurant. The view was nice, but a little spoilt be being right on top of the restaurant. If you decide to stay here, ask for a room towards one or other of the ends of the corridor to ensure that you have a good, unrestricted view. The room was very nicely decorated, the furnishings in good order and the bathroom was nice and clean. The hotel is family run, with the daughter, who speaks excellent English, helping on reception and the Mother preparing the food. We stayed on a half board basis and had a wide selection of dishes to choose from. Both evening meal and the breakfast were very good. The only criticism is that the WiFi in the room was very poor. The cost for a one night stay for two persons, including dinner and breakfast came to 220 Euros.
