What People are saying
Hot, Hot,Hot..or is it just me
topcatz123on 02/01/2017 01:09The room was divine, large with ample space with polished floor boards. Very clean with every thing you need, except air conditioning! It had the most comfortable bed, not hard, not soft, just perfect. Sleep quality was like being at home.
We travelled mid October 16 and found the room humid and hot. No amount of adjusting the A/C control helped, it was set around the 27C mark. We opened the window which only opens fractionally every day, but when we came back to our room in the afternoon,it was closed again, trapping the humidity inside. Outside it was a lot cooler than in our room.
One of our travel companions who spoke Chinese asked the front desk about getting the A/C set lower but apparently the A/C isn't on, at all, due to Government restriction.
Lighting was quite dim also, I had my husband hold my iPhone torch over the mirror so I could put my makeup on each day, and the hallways were quite dark. More power saving I suspect.
The room was serviced daily, and to a high standard. The bathroom was clean and mould free. All the usual bathroom inclsions were comlimentary including bottled water daily.
We had the self serve Buffet for Dinner on our first day as we were too exhausted from the travellling to venture out. There was a variety of asian and western food to choose from. Breakfast was in the same room, with the same variety of food, only more breakfast choices such as fruit, eggs and toast.
There was a variety of Chinese and Western guests and we were all catered for.
Would have given 5* if the A/C was turned on
Great hotel with arrogant front desk
DeepakBAon 07/07/2016 12:27We booked this hotel through ctrip and didn't really had any great expectation. We reached the hotel late night and were really disappointed with the grin welcome we got at front desk. There were 2 guys speaking a little English. They made us to wait till they finish all Chinese speaking guests check-in though they came later than us. Forget about apologies, I don't think they even know that they should at least smile While receiving a guest. The female staff next day were at least better. Anyway finally we checked in to the room and were amazed by the look and cleanliness of the room. They were "really spacious and ultra clean". They had luxurious accessories and made us feel special. It took away all our bad experience in the lobby. Morning breakfast was ok but too less options for the hefty price that they charge. Could not check the hotel amenities as we spent next two days exploring Beijing. The location of the hotel is also very good considering its proximity to city attractions and railway station. With the better mannered front desk(including their appearance) I think this hotel will score 100%
Have great potential but failure big time...
Alex3004on 11/05/2016 13:19Stayed 2 nights for business trip. First time in this hotel.
Pluses:
- best ever location in Beijing (Xidan station is close with 2 stops from Tiananmen Square and 4 stops from Beijing south station);
- big rooms.
Minuses:
- horrible breakfast (100% not suitable for foreigners and not worth 98 RMB for sure (maybe 40-50 RMB would be more fair...);
- tried to get spoon to make coffee or tea - called 2 times and never received it;
- gym does not have any water and even when asked - was refused...;
- towels are not good quality (not drying);
- bed is not comfortable (2 nights slept back with sour back after that).
Would not recommend in general. But might be intoned (breakfast, simple things like water in gym and have to think a lot about beds...).
good business place
Scipion-Parison 02/11/2015 13:36Well located hotel, just 5mins from Tiananmen square with extensive business services and well organized meeting rooms and banquet service. We had there a typical local business lunch, with tens of dishes flowing to the table throughout the meal (and overflowing the center piece). Everything was very good even if i'm usually not a big fun of North China cuisine. Steamed buns with roasted meat, pekin duck and spicy beef were very good and so were many of other unidentified vegetable dishes. The idea of a private room lunch with attendant kitchen was quite pleasant although the decoration of the place is quite strange, with overflowing gold, silver and crystal items.
Nice Hotel
Judith16on 12/07/2015 07:04A nice hotel with a spacious room. Breakfast had a large variety of choice although mostly Chinese cuisine and less of Western. Easy walking distance to shopping areas. Little English spoken by staff but managed ok. No swimming pool. Free wifi in hotel lobby but not in room.
