What People are saying

Odd

I took my grandson to the glass Skywalk and stayed 2 nights at the Hualapai Ranch.
I'd requested a cabin close to everything since I'm a senior citizen and have walking issues. When I arrived, my close up cabin had been given to the people on the tour bus.
When talking with reservations, more than once I asked about my grandson riding horses and when he could buy a ticket. When we arrived, he went (alone) to buy his ticket and was told to come back the next day when he wanted to ride. Again the next day he asked to buy a ticket. They told him to come back 30 minutes later. When he returned, he was told that he could not ride the horses without a parent going with him. (he is age 12 and only he and I were traveling together) NO one said this to me at any time before. I can't understand why not. He wanted to ride the mechanical bull that he'd ridden the day before. They suddenly said he could not ride that either without his parents or legal guardian's permission.
He asked to for archery which is advertised. Nope. Didn't have that either.
He asked for Quick Draw instruction. Nope. Didn't provide that either EVEN THOUGH THEY ADVERTISE ALL THIS!
Wagon rides are also advertised. Didn't see that happening.
Bottomline, I think this property exists for the chartered bus loads of Asian tourists that arrive every day and do not participate in the advertised activities. They only take pictures.
However, there was a bonfire in the evening and smores. That's all except expensive food.

Best way to visit Skywalk and great fun for kids

We stayed one night at the Hualapai Ranch, 5 adults and two boys ages 10 and 6. The cabins were basic but clean and relatively comfortable. The boys absolutely loved the " ranch" environment. There are Lasso lessons and kids over age 9 can try to ride the bucking bronco. By staying there, we were able to get the 8 am shuttle to the Skywalk and do that while it was not crowded and before it got too hot. I've seen some negative reviews of the Ranch and suggest you do a bit of research including reading the positive reviews as it is not for everyone, if you have young kids, this is a perfect choice. The dinner was a choice of baked chicken or pork ribs served with a corn muffin and a cookie. There was also a choice of mashed potatoes, beans or macaroni salad for a side. There was a vegetarian option. There is NO alcohol allowed on the ranch so keep, that in mind. There was complimentary bottled water in our room and unlimited soft drinks. Breakfast is a couple of simple choices. In the evening there is a campfire with cowboys to tell a tale and sing songs. You can also roast marshmallows and make s'mores. The staff was friendly and efficient and the gift shop has a selection of reasonably priced items. At night there is dark and the stars literally pop out to greet you. Each cabin has a porch to sit and enjoy the quiet. There are some extras of horseback riding and wagon ride that we did not have time to try.

Lame, lame, lame!

This review is for the 'Western' town, not the lodgings (which we didn't stay at). This was the hokiest, lamest tourist attraction I've been to in a long time. Knock-off cowtown. Boring. Nothing to do. Boring views. The only half-decent thing about this was the food at the restaurant. It was ok... nothing special, but really, nothing about this 'ranch' was great. Skip this part on the Hualapai reserve.

Something wrong at Hualapai Ranch

The cabins were nice , clean and great towels .But when i got up in the morning to experience the "multiple hiking , biking and jogging trails" as advertised Security forbade me to step off the very limited "Ranch "property .absolutely not one single trail. The horseback ride offerd was only for 30 minutes ,not 60 not 90 because they were "short staffed" even though I got there at 8 am with no one else around they refused to let me book an hour , no one else showed up for at least a couple hours after .No fires no Smores no stories .
It was so bad it was surreal ..Sold as a frontier experience.a complete falsehood .If you want to get close to nature go somewhere else .

Great views. Ok service.

The skywalk was pretty amazing. They dont let you take your own photos and the package is $65 if you want them. Be prepared to spend extra money:) The restaurant has breath taking views. The entire reservation has no alcohol. If you like a glass of wine at night, you'll have to sneak it in your room.

Service was ok. Better at the Skyview than the western town.

I would not recommend eating the ribs. Eat the chicken. They are the only two options served at the main
restaurant.
