Polly Con 20/11/2017 22:40I went for the weekend with a girlfriend and her daughter. We had the best time! Everywhere we went the staff was warm and friendly - I really felt they cared and wanted to make sure we were having a great time! My room was really nice, with a beautiful view of the Choptank and a large balcony - loved having my morning coffee out there watching the geese on the river. The room itself was very clean and the bed was so comfortable (the mattresses are awesome!) I'd emailed with the concierge about dinner reservations and told her that my friends daughter was Gluten Free - when we got to our room there was the sweetest amenity waiting for her with several GF treats from the Bay Country Market and a nice note addressed to her - what an awesome touch! That night we had drinks in Michener's lounge in front of the fireplace - so cozy. The Crab Dip appetizer was really good and a good portion size. Afterwards we went next door to Water's Edge for dinner. I had the Filet which was cooked perfectly with Bearnaise sauce and Smith Island cake for dessert. The server was so nice and brought Lily a Smore's kit to use outside at the fireplace later too. She loved it! Saturday we went to Blackwater Wildlife Refuge where we hiked and saw so many Eagles (glad I brought my camera!) and then into town for some retail therapy. There are some really cute shops in town with really unigue gifts/items. Back at the hotel we changed and headed for the pool where we enjoyed the pool, hot tub and the dive-in movie. Dinner that night was at Blue Point and was terrific - I loved grilled Rock fish and the Oysters. Sadly no room for dessert that night. All in all a wonderful stay. Sidenote - the hotel was gearing up for the Thanksgiving holiday and had a lot of activities planned for families and kids, which looked really fun. I also saw information for a New Year's Eve party that looked awesome. I can't wait to go back again!!
Lovely setting and unique decor.
Dinah428on 20/11/2017 11:27Unusual decorating in the guest rooms. Kind of odd, actually, with what looks like a lacquered small picnic table acting, I guess, as a computer table. The odd-numbered rooms seem to have a water view, while the even-numbered overlook the parking lot. Very helpful front of the house staff--not so great housekeeping.
Cambridge Regional Bridge Tournament
amieduvinon 19/11/2017 22:15I spent four days this past week playing in a duplicate bridge tournament. This resort is the nicest one I have stayed at for a bridge tournament. Every aspect of this resort is outstanding. The location is beautiful offering a river front view. The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. The staff was very helpful particularly Joanne Wofford who answered my questions about the Blue point restaurant on the property and offered to make a reservation for our group. I recommend this property highly. The golf course looked well maintained although I didn’t play there.
Perfect Place to Stay on the Eastern Shore
