What People are saying

Not the best place

Isabel Yon 02/03/2017 13:59

The hotel is clean, but the pictures of the rooms are much better than the rooms themselves (at least the one they gave me). The hotel is close to a beach but not really a beach you can sun bath (too far from the water). The price I paid was too high for what I got. For the same price, you can get something directly on the beach. Besides, they were not extremely helpful when asking them about what to do in Lome or Togo in general. They need to up-the-game if they want to attract more tourists. I got a much better place for the same price right on the beach. The staff was, however, nice and cordial.

Very nice

The hotel is located close to the beach. It's clean and the food is delicious. The bar is decorated very beautifully and they have nice drinks. The rooms have enough space and a mosquito-net over every bed. The staff is friendly and very helpful (also guided us to the beach at night).

Very Mediocre at all Levels

BW57MAURon 28/11/2016 05:25

As I was sharing the room, we opted for a 3 person extra-large room. I was shown a separate 'cottage' with its own entrance and verandah during my visit. We were given a slightly larger room with a very poor airconditioner system that barely kept the room slightly cool throughout our stay.

The service leaves a lot to be desired. One can feel the very hands-off management style of the hotel. The staff are often lounging around in the heat, and numerous times food was served late and cold, having just been sitting in the kitchen and waiting. The quality of the food itself could be quite inconsistent as well.

At every level, Hotel Aurore cannot compare with its sister hotel Napoleon!

Good experience

The hotel is situated near the beachside, a bit far off the city centre but still in a good location. It has a very nice garden, a terrace and a restaurant which can serve you reasonably good food at any time.

The rooms are basic but clean, with the downside of being full of mosquitoes because of the garden. The price of the rooms is good compared to the rates and quality offered around Lome', while the restaurant is a bit too expensive.

WiFi works but it is quite slow, especially at evening and night.

Basic - an ok stay in Lome

The hotel scene in Lome appears to lack much variety, and so I am writing this review in the context of what I have seen, as opposed to trying to make comparisons to an international standard. The room I had was functional but spartan and in need of renovation - the air conditioner was broken, the lock on the door was flimsy, and the floor grouting was a bit disgusting (I didn't walk around barefoot in the room!) The louvred windows were also broken and that meant that mosquitoes kept coming in (despite my periodic spraying). The communal areas in the hotel seemed much nicer - better kept, and I spent most of my time there rather than in the room! The price was, however, reasonable, at $50 a night bed and breakfast.
