Very good value for money but far out
imsjhaon 06/07/2017 20:38Very good value for money but far out if you are planning to visit Barcelona.
Breakfast buffet can be improved. We were here for 3 days but the breakfast menu was the same. We were allowed to keep our luggage after check-out on our last day. It helped us a lot to plan our last day of the trip.
Planned to relax but a little too far out
Kate Eon 17/06/2017 14:47Typical Ibis, basic but clean room with comfortable bed and practical bathroom. We came to Mataro after 2 weeks at Mugello and Catalunya MotoGp's, so were looking just to be abe to go swimming and eat and drink well to recharge the batteries. Some of the research I'd done was a tad optimistic on the locality. So alrhough a 7 to 8 minutr walk to the nearest beach, there is no shade so it's a very hot walk. Also id read there were some beach bars the other side of the underpass, there was one very small offer with a few tables near the beach but only a small selection, more a kiosk than a bar. After returning to the hotel for a shower its then a good 15-20 minute walk to Mataro centre for food if you dont want to eat at the hotel, it's cooler to walk through the town rather than the beach/port route. Also the hotel now has a new building going up on the beach side which is bigger than the hotel itself, so as some photos indicate you are tight next to the beach/rocks this is no longer the case. Smoking rooms have restricted windows so be prepared for it to be quite smelly in the room if you have a smoker with you. Overall this just wasnt the hotel for us on this occasion , but if you are driving it would be fine and there is an underground car park which offered good value. All staff including the cleaners were friendly and helpful.
Very Good value
Mark Jon 22/05/2017 16:53We stayed at the Ibis for 6 nights as we where here for the Grand Prix. We didn't want to stay in the centre of the city so we decided on this hotel. Great decision. Most of the staff were very helpful & friendly. Joseph who worked the bar in the evenings was quite a character & very friendly too. Marc who was doing the breakfast also very friendly. The rooms were spotless & quite spacious rooms were cleaned daily. We caught the train into the city most days this cost around 8 Euros per person per day but it was a very pleasant journey along the coast line. Sometimes we would get off the train if we spotted somewhere nice to stop for a meal or a drink. It took around 25 mins to reach the centre.Would recommend this hotel if you didn't fancy staying in the city & very reasonable prices too. I'm sure we will be back again!!
Excellent stay
janwill2002on 21/05/2017 18:04Stayed here for the F1 2017.
Rooms were good and clean.
I appreciated the silver member welcome attention from the management. From the hotel to the Mataro city centre is a small walk. Parking is under the hotel.
Excellent service in the bar: at the second visit the bartender knew our orders.
Great place to stay if you want to stay out of Barcelona city centre
Brookaon 27/03/2017 10:51Lovely hotel overlooking the beach and harbour. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and all spoke English. Breakfasts were excellent with good choice of food. Hotel is about 25 minutes from the centre of Barcelona and the fare is Euro 8.20 return. Bedroom was very clean with all facilities
