Basic but good for the money.

Stayed 2 nights in this hotel.
The rooms are small but clean. You do not get shower gel, just one really small bar of soap, so take what you need with you. The staff was great, cannot find fault with them.
No tea/coffee making facilities but, downstairs at the breakfast area, you can get unlimited tea and coffees, even cappuccino and mocha, and they are great quality. You can also get orange or apple juice. Overall if you find this hotel at a good price, do not hesitate. Just one thing, the wash basin is in the room, so sometimes you get funny smells from the pipes. If this is a problem, just ask for a different room. Also the location is great. No faults with this one :)

Look, it's an Ibis

You know what to expect: it's not just an Ibis, it's an Ibis Budget which is - extraordinarily - even less glamorous than an everyday Ibis.

If you need a bed in a strange town, it's fine (if overpriced for a tatty old room), but don't expect to be spending time in the tastefully-appointed bar or the gourmet restaurant because there ain't one.

The hotel was clean and tidy, decent size room, nice shower. The breakfast was a rip off £5.50 for a bit of toast, really? You get free hot drinks 24/7 tho, every time I went to reception there were no one on the front desk

Know what to expect

Having worked on the hotel industry for over 15 years I am well aware of what to expect from a budget hotel.

However having booked a triple room for 3 people, having the confirmation for 3 and double checking on arrival the room was a triple, I was still surprised to find the extra bed was not made up and the bedding simply placed in a pile on top, resulting in me having to make my own bed up. Not easy when this is a bunk bed with not much room between this and the ceiling.

Add this to the fact that is a non smoking hotel, the previous occupier of the room had been smoking, given all the ash on the window sill, both in the room and outside.

As I said, working in the industry I am well aware that people still smoke in hotels, I do have to think about the fire alarm system and not being able to detect this blatant disregard for the law. Not to mention the housekeeping's total failure to notice the amount of ash still in the room. Despite being a "clean" room.

Ideal Location for One Night Pre-Cruise

Booked this hotel directly on AccorHotels.com. Rate and location appeared to be good, so we gave it a shot.

Very happy with the decision! The hotel was an easy 10 minute walk from the train station and about 15 minute walk to the port.

Asked for a room on the quiet side and got it at around 1pm. Basic, small room, comfy bed, good shower pressure. You need to bring your own amenities like soap, shampoo, etc. Slept well!

TGIF restaurant just around the corner was ideal! McDonald's on the other side for breakfast.

Would definitely stay here again for a night pre cruise.
