In need of an update!!

We stayed here after a wedding, the bed was comfortable but that's all the positives! It's seriously in need of updating. The room we were in (218) needed painting and the shower had black stuff growing round, where the tiles met the shower. A refresh of the silicone would sort this out. The curtains were old and needed replacing or at least washing, the carpet in places was threadbare, I could go on but I won't!
The cleaning wasn't up to much either, the cups were dirty and had tea/coffee stains around the top, I cleaned them in the bathroom in 5 minutes so why couldn't the maid do that? I won't be staying here again that's for certain!

Stayed at the ibis, as my mum and myself were going to see the Tom Jones concert. The room was clean, tidy, beds were comfortable. Towels, hair dryer, shampoo provided. Had a lovely toastie when we arrived back after the concert around 1am. The young man who was on nights was helpful and welcoming. (Longish hair) I'm sorry, I can't remember your name! But you were brilliant. Thank you for being so accommodating. Only thing I would say is more teas and milks provided in the bedrooms, as personally I like a cup before I go to bed and when I wake up!

A comfortable one night stay in room 10 which was clean and comfortable, and situated on the ground floor at the rear of the hotel overlooking a small garden. A bit confusing when you first walk into the hotel, as there doesn’t seem to be a standard reception area, just a young lady taking details on a small tablet device.

Stayed here for 1 night something different with grand kids room very spacious besuited out of this world wifi excellent and all tv channels only downside too late too order food so had to go across to macdonalds😂grandkids didn't mind at all beds were very comfy good nights sleep will be going back

An excellent stay with just one concern

An excellent stay: clean and comfortable room, friendly and professional staff. We were, however, concerned by the remodelling of the reception area. The new open-plan layout appears to compromise the security and comfort of the staff and may be confusing to visitors from mainland Europe where, based on our experience in Ibis hotels in a number of countries, a more traditional layout with a reception desk is expected. We were particularly concerned by the implications for older, physically handicapped or pregnant reception staff. The reception staff are required to be on their feet all day and have to twist and bend to use the equipment which is likely to make their working conditions uncomfortable at times..
