Typical chain hotel, perfect location
Anna Con 27/08/2017 12:52I have never stayed at Ibis, but I am familiar of other chain hotels of its class. So I guess it's typical: clean and reliable, but very basic level of convenience. Continental breakfast, small rooms. We chose the place for location, which is perfect if you're visiting by train -it's literally 5 minutes walk from the station in lively shopping district and walking distance to most tourist attractions. One thing I didn't like at all was paid Internet connection. I mean it's not the price that bothered me, but the very fact they charge for it. I don't remember when was the last time I stayed in a place, that didn't provide free Wi-Fi. 2005 maybe? This is just super-cheap if you ask me.

AmirCauson 20/08/2017 14:01Located on the busy commercial street this hotel gives you the opportunity to easily reach important and must to see places in Dresden. The facility is typical Ibis style hotel. You can park your car in public garage at the commercial center nearby for the 6 euros per day. Wi-fi is quite good and is free for Ibis club members. The staff is nice and helpful.
Large room, simple, clean - good value for a family
Michelle Ion 17/08/2017 21:51Our family (children ages 10 and 12) enjoyed the size of our family room very much at this hotel. The children had a room to themselves (shared pull-out couch), and we had plenty of space in our bedroom as well. The room was clean and surprisingly quiet for such a large hotel. A great, central location to explore Dresden.
Shocking experience
Vlad Aon 12/08/2017 10:37I ordered a super saver package, that included free cancellation, breakfast and internet. Upon arrival discovered that my room has very poor WiFi signal and I need to step out of my room to surf internet. When complained to lobby stuff, I was told that there is nothing to do, and that I can cancel the internet and breakfast from package, but breakfast alone on spot price is the same as package price. When I said that this is disappointing, and one of the reasons to choose the hotel was the attractive package, I was told by reception guy that may be indeed I need to go away to different hotel...
Besides that when at first night I asked to heat a baby bottle in microwave I got angry eyeball rolling and grimace.
Besides that many signs in hotel are in German only, even customer feedback form. See attached images.
Bottom line: are tourists welcomed in that hotel?
Good basic accomodations
Wim Lon 05/08/2017 10:08Ibis Bastei is a good affordable hotel with basic accomodations. Clean rooms, airconditioning, surprisingly quiet... However I don't think they offer roomservice.
The staff is really friendly and helpfull. The breakfast room is a bit on the small side so you will probably have to sit with 2 or 3 other persons at one table.
The hotel is situated along the shopping street 'Prager strasse' where no cars are allowed.
