Weekend visitors
joy Mon 11/05/2017 17:37The rooms were great, and it was close to the Maginot line that we were going to visit. Breakfast is very nice BUT and I mean a big but! they do not serve evening meals on weekends, during the week yes, but not on weekends,
I could hardly believe it, we were given the address on just one restaurant to go to, which was not what I would choose myself, but it was the only one open on the weekend. if you have a hotel full, why would you not do meals every day
Average hotel
goncalvson 29/10/2015 22:54Ibis hotel with standard quality and good service, located in a quite zone. But some improvements could mean a pleasant stay. The wifi is not very fast, the noise and cold isolation in the rooms are needing some improvements. The parking is free and acessible.
If you have a business in these area
alfonso pon 28/06/2015 17:05standard 3 stars hotel, very small room without a cabinet; the room is so small you can't open the suitcase; luckily I had only a small rucksack. Suitable for 1 or 2 nights; it was the only available choice in Luxembourg and around, but is 1 hour far from the Lux airport, and the taxy was bloody expensive ! Phone the hotel, they can give a better taxi price with local companies. Staff helpful and polite, breakfast is good but standard continental. Some noise from the air-conditioning or fans. poor wifi connection.
Avoid if possible
grahami579on 17/06/2015 11:10Shabby, bleak place. Poorly trained staff. Overpriced breakfast. Go elsewhere if you can. I have summed this up in 11 characters but apparently I must write 200. Shabby, bleak, horrible, unfriendly staff.
clean modern and basic
blaise002on 23/11/2014 13:37We stayed here for three nights on a battlefields tour , with my two friends. The ibis longwy mexy is a modern hotel, its at the edge of town and is a good location to see the maginot line fortifications. Our rooms were very clean and beds are very comfortable, shower room nice and new, with shower gel supplied , standard bedroom fittings but one thing missing was tea making facilities as I miss my morning cuppa. Breakfast was a bit of a letdown for myself and companions as it was not up to normal continental variety consisting of ham , cheese , yoghurt , and bread, all of one type and not different in respect of meat and cheese. The evening meal for my friends and I was very good as we went al a carte, for the other people on the coach who we travelled with; the meal was a pre - booked set menu and not so good in my opinion even though it was about the same price , about £20. The other gripe I have is the price of drinks , almost £20 for three " large " kronenbourgs for £20, everything seems to hinge on the number 20 .We tried to explore some cheaper places to eat but at this time of year everything seems shut, we walked ten minutes into town and found two restaurants, one called the delights of bachus and the other la floriana which is a Italian pizzeria and the other a French restaurant with a strange name which could be mistaken for something else. these were all shut and maybe its the end of the tourist season but I would have thought that local custom was there. So the moral of the story is bring a bottle and a bag of peanuts if you have to economise.
