Top site - bad cleaning
barbarawH4026UPon 11/07/2017 10:303rd time here. Was always nice but this time the rooms were not so clean. Hope this will be better again. Good situated. Breakfast was too expensive for what they serve. Upgrade is good but only when the room has no broken things in it.
Poemes stay
908jeniseron 29/06/2017 23:03We loved the central location and the easy access to the cathedral and the luminary walk which were just amazing. The staff was less than welcoming and our room was in the parking lot and the gate was locked when we returned and when we wanted to leave in the morning, making us feel forgotten and undervalued.
Closest hotel to train station
Treece_MNon 18/06/2017 17:55Charming, affordable, and convenient. On-site parking for 7€ if you drive. Just blocks from the cathedral. If you visit from April to Oct. don't miss the nightly light shows (Lumières de Chartres, starting at 10:30 pm or so) projected on the sides of the cathedral and other buildings around town. Some have music with them, like the one on the west face of the cathedral.
convenient
micvaon 31/03/2017 08:01Very conveniently located across from the train station & 10 minute walk to the cathedral, the main, perhaps only attraction of the city. The room was rather small & updated with modern fixtures - I found the price a little high for the quality. What appeared to be a large bed was not - it was two beds pushed together with bedding for a single large bed rendering the centre of the bed useless because of a gap between two beds - this is very strange & mentioned by other reviewers - especially couples. All staff were friendly & professional.
A very short walk from the train station
rob2269on 28/03/2017 21:41I arrived in Chartres, went to my accommodation, immediately left due to the cigarette stink and returned to the train station. Across the street from the train station was a hotel. I stopped in at the Hotel Des Poemes and they had a single room available. The room had an odd window high up on the wall which looked out on the parking lot, so my view was nothing special. The hotel was clean, comfortable, modern and best of all, didn't stink of cigarettes. I skipped the breakfast as the cost was too high. I enjoyed my stay in Chartres because of this hotel. Chartres is not the greatest place to stop in France. There are so many better places to go, but if you find yourself making a stop, try the Poemes.
