Third visit - won't be the last

This was our third visit to Ilian Beach and I'm sure we'll be back.

We had a studio on the top floor - I had requested a particular room and we managed to get it which was great.

The studios are basic but VERY clean and right on the beach.

Obviously depends what you want on your holiday but for us the location us perfect - beach, bakeries, restaurants, bus stop etc within easy short walking distance. And the centre of Rethymnon is about 45min walk away.

Staff were still as friendly as before and even the lovely hotel cat was still there.

Only thing we still didn't like was the awful entertainment from a neighbouring hotel which lasted till after 12:30 at night a couple of times a week. Otherwise Ilian was very nice and quiet.

We stayed here for 7 days at the end of April. As soon as we arrived we could see the whole complex was immaculate. Maria and the guys work extremely hard to keep everything spotlessly clean and tidy yet they always have time for the guests and are very friendly and helpful. The apartments are arranged in two blocks either side of a central garden with the private car park at one end and the pool and beach at the other. Our apartment was on the first floor with a balcony, the room was a good size with a small kitchenette that was adequately equipped for breakfast and snack preparation but you would struggle to cook for a family. The bathroom was nice with a good shower and plenty of hot water. The pool was very nice with a small bar to the side, the drinks snacks are very reasonably priced and as previously said it is all very clean and tidy. A board walk leads onto the sandy beach which has plenty sun loungers with parasols. The week we were there was a little windy and the sea was a bit choppy and cold but I still managed to go in and swim. The complex is a little outside the touristy part of town and is quiet and relaxed but is a good base to get to the attractions. Shops, supermarkets and tavernas are all a short walk and the main part of town is a short taxi ride. We had a hire car which makes everything easier.
All in all we couldn't fault the place and would definitely return and recommend it to anyone.

Beach Front - Excellent

On the beach and excellent grounds, quiet and only 5 euros taxi to centre of town or 45mins leisurely walk (I think you can also get a bus).

Studio was spacious and very clean with lovely balcony. Sufficient facilities for basic meals and microwave was great.

Pool area was brilliant and cafe/bar very reasonable.

Direct access to sandy beach - no road crossing

Direct access to sandy beach without any road crossing is a GREAT advantage of this place. It has also a nice pool and a tiny one for toddlers. This is also quieter that many of the near-by places. The rooms are small, if you are 4. The bathroom was nicely renovated and good though the room is a bit old and the kitchenette is small. Price/quality was, however, excellent. Free parking. Mini market at 5 mins.

Been here four times now. This place is a little paradise. It is small, very very clean (e.g. cleaning of rooms daily except Sundays, pool is 'vacuumed' every night) and has everything you need. There's very friendly staff, a poolbar with cold drinks, tostis and icecream, enough beds at the pool and direct access to the beach.
Rooms are simple, but complete, large enough and did I mention that they are clean?
There's free parking and free wifi. A couple of (small) supermarkets, two bakeries and some nice restaurants (1+1!) within 5 minutes walking distance.

The only downside: it's small and has a lot of regular guests, so I expect it will fill up in no time :) So don't tell anyone how great it is, I'd like to return some day!
