These apartments are aimed at the younger crowd so if you do not fall into this category and don't like noise into early hours, don't go. We are older but noise does not particularly bother us (we were young once and remember it well) but I would imagine some older people might get uptight about it. We were at the back of the complex away from the pool/bar so I think it was a bit quieter there. The apartments were very clean and the staff very pleasant and helpful. Superb central location on Malia's main strip so don't have to walk far for anything and large supermarket about 5 mins round the corner. Thomson says beach is 10 mins away, I would say more like 15-20 mins and we walk fast. Did not use the bar as so many other bars round the corner and did not use the pool as we prefer beach. Got "free" Wifi at some times of the day but not sure if came from hotel next door, we did not pay for it and apparently there is no free Wifi here. Had to pay extra for safe and air con. Only drawback was there was no umbrella on balcony and sun was facing it all day, so could not use as simply too hot with no shelter. We had a good time staying here despite the rowdy (and quite entertaining) noise at night, but if you get upset at disturbed nights, this place is not for you!
One amazing person. He is so helpful and makes sure you enjoy your time at Ilios, Malia. What a cool dude! I hope to return to this hotel sooner rather than later. Despite the advertising, this establishment is suitable for any age group, just depends on your attitude! Fab!!
This place is so good for a lads/girls holiday! The bar time staff are sound. For a 3 star its decent. So chilled out day and night. U know what ur getting with the drinks. Defo go back! Snoop is a G!
Just got back from staying here for a week. We didn't know what to expect booking last minute. We were pleasantly surprised on arrival. Greeted by our reps Kay and Connor who were lovely (Kay is a very happy young woman and was very thoughful and chatty always wearing a smile. Often coming over to chat and make sure we were ok) We were quickly sorted with rooms. The rooms were basic but we were impressed. Very clean. I would say not very well equipped if you are planning to cook there (we never intended to so this was not a problem). The only thing i would criticise about the room was the way the bathroom floor flooded when you had a shower. The pool was lovely (i would go out early to get a sun lounger). The bar area was fine nothing exciting but a good base to start or have drinks/snacks around the pool. To say we were not in the 18-30 bracket we were expecting it to be a bit rowdy. But it really wasn't that bad at all. Be prepared that this is a 'young' persons place to stay and you might have some noise. But we expected it to be much worse(i believe it is worse in June and July). My only real criticism about the hotel was the fact they charge for wifi. I refused to pay after already paying €50 for aircon and €25 for the safe. As far as I'm concerned they are making a mistake here as we never ate there we walked 2 minutes away and had breakfast at The House(great place) everyday. More people would eat and drink more at the hotel if they had free wifi I'm sure. Most of the bars offer free wifi. Malia itself is lovely!! Highly recommended the beach but shop around for sun loungers as they do compete. You do get wifi free down on the beach. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced all over Malia. There are a lot of young people there but they don't go out until rather late. There were a mixture of age groups out in the evenings as well as families. Overall we had a great week and i wouldn't hesitate to go back and stay at the same place. Will see if it's a bargain again next year 😊
Stayed here for a week on a girls holiday, Snoop who works at the hotel is a complete d**k never met anyone so disrespectful and rude. I complained about my aircon not working (which I paid) for and his words were "do I look like a fu**ing receptionist" if the receptionist was ever there I would have gone to her and complained, also he goes around slapping people for a laugh when really his banter is awful. There is no hot water at the night so when we got back from the paint party we had to shower in freezing cold water and dry ourselves with dirty towels as they hardly ever changed them or gave you fresh toilet roll. The shower also floods the bathroom so you have to put a towel down so you don't slip, another dirty towel. The pool had playing cards in it for about 3 days so that seemed to me like the pool didn't get cleaned. At the bottom of our block there was a chicken nugget there for three days so the cleaners get paid for doing nothing. The reps are also boring they don't come round and talk to people unless they're trying to sell you something, they just sit in there bar all day.
