Good and Bad

Of all the places we stayed whilst travelling around South Africa this had us scratching our heads. We stayed in an upstairs apartment which had a very large balcony with BBQ and fantastic views over the tree tops to the beach and sea, The apratment itself had two bedrooms and a basic but functioning kitchen- Our biggest problem was how the place smelled- I do not know if it was damp or some other problem there but eveytime you entered the apartment it smelled bad which gave you the feeling it was not clean- I do not plan on re visitng St Lucia but if I did I would most likely not stay here again. As for the town itself numerous restaurants, Spar supermarket, great beaches- Kids have to be careful as quite strong currents, so no real swimming but plenty of fun to be had playing int he waves which are quite big. Two main boat trips to visit the hippos- I would strongly recommend you book a boat trip in advance as they all seems to be full- we didnt but had the luck that a bus tour was delayed so was able to get on the boat at the last minute. On the boat trip plenty of hippos to be seen as well as crocs and birds

Great place to stay with kids in the age of 8-15. Organic building style. The kids will love to climb into the tree and sit on the platform. The view is magnificent. We regret that we could only stay for one night.

Customizable, helpful and fixed the most! very good. We booked for one night but wanted to stay for several nights and they puzzled it so we could stay all nights even though it was quite full. They were very helpful. It was amazing views from some rooms and all the rooms were very cozy! Nice with pool but nothing to sit and sunbathe at the polar (chair or so) everything was good and the owner of the place is fantastic and we also borrowed beach limits of them! Very good, highly recommend!

Our experience with Ingwenya Lodge

We stayed in a slightly older unit at the Ingwenya Lodge but it was clean, incredibly spacious and in an amazing location slightly away from the very busy area of town. Madeline was an extremely welcoming and helpful host and our family had a wonderful time. Thanks so much!

Excellent place to stay

Great views over the ocean. St Lucia has a lot to offer the beach lover with the national park, lagoon and beaches only a stones throw away.
The accomodation is simple but functional and the host Madeleine was very helpful guiding us to the best spots in the local area
