I was attending a workshop being held at this hotel so it was most convenient to stay there overnight the night before. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They allowed me to do late checkout free of charge.

Hard to beat the location if you're visiting Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus, but this hotel needs to be refreshed. The mattress was soft, so be prepared if your back isn't the greatest. Rooms were clean, food in the restaurant was average, staff was attentive.

We checked in late and and the staff was super friendly. We were pleasantly surprised to have been upgraded to a family suite with two bedrooms, each with king bed. One of my children wanted to sleep on the sofabed so he could have his own bed. However, the sofa bed was completely warped so that was a “no go” but sharing a king bed with a sibling was fine. The shower trickled all night but again, it wasn’t a huge issue since we each had bedroom door to close to avoid hearing the water.
So, on to the upcharges:
1) I don’t understand why a hotel that has a private garage charges hotel guests to park. I could see charging day (conference) guests, but not overnight guests. That’s an extra $24, including tax.
2) This was the first Hilton Hotel that charged me full price for children’s breakfast. I’ve stayed at Double Tree, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn & other Hilton hotels and generally, breakfast is free for everyone in the room. In this hotel, we received a breakfast coupon that did not make clear that it was only good for 2 people and we ended up having to pay $14 plus tax for additional breakfasts. There were no kids rates. Breakfast was pretty good, but not for $14 per person. If I had known the cost in advance, I would have skipped the hotel breakfast & grabbed bagels elsewhere.

Where do I start? This is not what I expect as an HHonors valued customer. Poor check-in experience. No cookie offered (as there should be). Small room in just about acceptable condition. No room safe. No water in the room (as there should be). Slow draining shower - standing in 2 inches of water at the end of washing. House-keeping removed the clock half way through the stay (it came back the next day). Don't think about using the hotel bar or restaurant - they wanted $6 + tax + gratuity just for sitting down. That's before you order anything!
I really hope Hilton take a look at this place. It is not close to the expected standard.

As my first experience in a foreign country, it was very good to stay in this hotel: they were patience enough with the instructions. My only recommendation is that it could be more transparent with respect with meals.
