Less than anticipated

I visited the Inn at Broadway years ago for a wedding so I was excited to try staying there on a visit to Rochester. Unfortunately they do not seem to care much about the hotel. On checking in and inquiring about a late checkout the front desk person told me it would be $60/hr extra in a hostile tone. The rooms are large and the beds are nice but could use a refresh overall. Lighting in the bathroom is terrible. Thankfully we only booked one night. I would recommend staying here if you are part of a wedding party. Otherwise look elsewhere.

Amazing wedding!

Got married here a few years ago. My family still talks about the wedding! The coordinator, Jessica, was easy to work with and very accommodating. The place is very classy and has everything you need all in one space for a wedding: ballroom, hotel rooms, restaurant, bar/lounge, parking etc. The food was delicious and the bar service was fantastic! We coordinated to have the bar/lounge stay open late for an after party once our reception ended. We have returned on our anniversaries for dinner. The steak house is a fancy/romantic experience. Food is amazing! Save room for dessert, the server rolls over an fancy cart with the dessert selections, wines and cordials. Highlight of the meal

nice stay

i believe this used to be a gentlemens club and it has that vibe, i suppose one would call it a boutique hotel, our room was spacious with a gas fireplace and the bed and linens were sumptuous there is proper bar downstairs and throughout there there were comfy seats and sofas to lounge on. the hotel is well known for it's fine dining restaurant tournedos.the service was friendly and efficient but unfortunately the food was not up to par with the $ 200+ check the caesar salad was sad and limp, oysters had bits of shell in them, and both our steaks were slightly overcooked . it was still a nice evening but do not be in a hurry the food was very slow coming out. also avoid the free continental breakfast it was strange to say the least .it was nice to get back to our lovely room.

Location excellent, close to everything Rochester. A well kept aged Hotel with quaint rooms and an excellent steak house. Very close to Rochester Jazz Festival venues too.
This Hotel wold be excellent for special events and family gatherings.

Nice, but unlikely to repeat

I booked one night in this hotel as part of a block of rooms set aside for a friend's wedding. It was comfortable and tastefully appointed, however, in comparison to other boutique hotels, I felt the experience fell somewhat short.

For example, I had hoped to check into my room about an hour early so that I could shower and get dressed after my travels and just prior to the wedding ceremony. The person I spoke with on the phone was not particularly understanding and simply left it with, "well, you can ask when you get here, but we can't promise anything." I understand the hotel policy, but it was the dismissiveness and utter lack of interest in accommodating me that left a bad taste in my mouth. In the end, I did get into the room about half an hour early and rushed to get to the wedding on time.

As I said before, the hotel was nicely decorated, however, my room was at the back of the hotel and looked out over an industrial area parking lot. It was so unappealing, I just kept the view blocked with the window coverings the entire time. Additionally, my room must have been just above the reception room for the wedding I had attended earlier. Unfortunately, I had to leave Rochester quite early the next morning, so I ducked out of the reception early. I might as well have stayed, it was so loud. I don't think the volume of the music was terribly inappropriate, but more that the walls are thin.

I do think the hotel has been nicely restored. The common spaces are comfortable and tasteful. The food the hotel served as part of the reception was good. I also appreciated the free and copious parking. As far as reaching boutique level quality, however, I would expect far more attentive, friendly, and accommodating service in addition to some special amenities to make up for things like the noise and the less than idyllic surroundings.
