Lovely apartment but some improvements are required
Nomad422on 16/10/2015 15:33Stayed in a Kothenerstrasse apartment. Apartment itself was great - very airy with big windows. However, the apartment was not cleaned properly, not obviously visible, but for example, if you walked barefoot, you immediately realized that the floor was not cleaned well. They could supply more than one towel per person. Having stayed there for three days, we realized that longer stays without servicing would have required doing cleaning and washing ourselves. There was no wifi available and had to resort to buy a sim card for wifi (not a big deal, but wifi is generally standard nowadays).
Great location but could have a better car park
ankathil_arjunon 02/07/2015 17:17The apartment is at a great location and a lot of attractions can be visited by foot without going for any public transport. There are a lot of restaurant nearby and is a great place to stay if you are a tourist.
The car park however has a height restriction and the sedan I was driving was a very tight fit. If you have a tall hatchback or an SUV you would not be able to park.
Also, you need to pay extra for Wifi, so please keep that in mind before booking.
If you are going to reach late( after 6pm) you would need to go to the Hostel and collect keys from there, and it does take some time.
A well-priced pleasant place to stay in Berlin
J Lon 29/04/2015 23:13I stayed in the Pfefferbett apartments on Invalidenstrasse. They are well located, just one tram stop from the Hauptbahnhof but also in a nice area right opposite the Natural History Museum and right near the U-Bahn that runs down to Friedrichstrasse. So connections are excellent. There is a decent little food market - Netto - just round the corner. I had a top floor apartment in the rear of the building, with lovely views from dormer windows over the rooftops. The studio apartment was bright, clean, simply but adequately furnished, with a nice bathroom with a tub! And a small well designed kitchen. The bed was comfy with beautifully laundered sheets. The staff let me in promptly and arranged WiFi at no cost. In all, this was a very satisfactory place to stay, and I will go back.
Please be aware these are not serviced apartments. The staff let you in and that is that, unless you have a problem, when you can call them. I had no need of this.
Nice clean Rooms
D_lenderon 20/04/2015 14:29we stayed at the pfefferbett apartments and we enjoys our stay. it has a perfect location for first time visitors since it is placed dead center of everything. the rooms where clean and comfortable and nice for the price. the only inconvenience was the pickup of the keys that made us drive a bit in a taxi. but besides this it is a very nice place to stay.
Good alternative to a hotel or even hostel
MatthijsVWon 27/05/2013 10:28The 2 person apartment is a great alternative to a more expensive hotel or even a hostel. The apartment has everything you might need for a short stay in Berlin. It is clean, sufficient space and a complete bathroom with full bath. The kitchen has everything you need for some cooking, although the small electric stove and lack of an oven means you're probably better of eating out most days. That is not a problem however, as the apartment is on a great location, near a handy Ubahn stop and walking distance of most big streets. Main station is a 10 minute walk, Unter den Linden probably 15 minutes. All furniture, absolutely all furniture, is IKEA, but I wouldn't mind for short trips.
The one thing that was really lacking in this day and age was Wireless Internet. They rent usb-sticks to connect to (I presume) a German 3G carrier, but that really does not qualify as a suitable replacement. As I had a great deal on this apartment via Bookings.com at 57 Euro's a night, I hardly felt I could complain, but for the standard price, it should be included for the international and/or professional crowd.
