A Comfortable Stay

Innisfree is a conveniently-located comfortable place to stay in South Bend. Easy access to Notre Dame as well as the History Museum, Studebaker Museum and downtown dining spots. Stephanie comfortably welcomed us and made sure our stay was a good one. Very generous commons rooms for a Bed and Breakfast. We took full advantage of the living space provided before heading out for dinner.

Worn and tired B&B!

Our stay at this B&B was very disappointing. We arrived at 4 pm and found no one there. I called the number listed on website and left a message. The owner called me back and stated we should have received an email with instructions and code for door. We did not receive an email. She gave us the code and said she may or may not see us. That she was a nurse. She was on property when we arrived. She did not stay.

In a previous post it states that this B&B is/was for sale. It looks tired and worn. Many wall decorations have been removed and the decor is mainly cheap brick a brack. My point is photos on website are outdated and not accurate to current conditions.

It states on website that it has been renovated. It does have good ac but no other renovations. Bathroom was not quaint but old and dingy. We did not shower.

Lastly, owner informed us no hot breakfast during the week since she works. She had boxes of cereal, granola bars, a loaf of bread with toaster and Hostess donuts. Also a Kherig for self serve coffee. The website did not state this and it was not what we expected.

There is no one in charge on property. Only guests and a front door code. Not what we expected and in my opinion very creepy. Would not recommend to readers.

Delightful over night stay

I found Innisfree as a last minute place to stay for a wedding on ND campus. It is just over three miles to the Bascilica on campus, which was a little bit further than I wanted. But it was well worth this minor inconvenience. The immediate neighbor lacks charm, but the inside and outside of Innisfree are real charms. I have stayed in several B&Bs in Ireland and Innisfree is as authentic and comfortable as any I have seen. Furnishings are quaint and show a very personal touch. My room lacked a desk or table for my computer, but this was a small inconvenience. Cindy is a very warm hostess. She follows up with emails very promptly. I thought the room rate was very low compared to hotels in the area.

Lovely BnB with very spacious rooms and bathrooms

The rooms in this bed and breakfast are great -- extremely large and and well equipped - as was our bathroom. There are also lots of spaces around the house to sit and read or work, as well as ample parking. Unfortunately I did not get to meet the owner but I spoke to her by phone, and appreciated her very flexible attitude towards late arrivals and comings and goings (because many BnB owners are very particular about having the whole house shut down early for the evening). We stayed during the week so the breakfast was only continental (with no gluten-free options except fresh nectarines and bananas) but it worked out well for us since we were rushing out to an early appointment anyway. I would definitely stay here if in South Bend again.

Great place to stay

We got the biggest room there and thoroughly our stay. This was close to everything as South Bend isn't that big. The room was huge and more than enough space for my family of four. Cool rooms in the house to check out. Backyard has things to do. Host was very nice and likes to fish. Would stay here again
