Susan Non 24/07/2015 13:47We often travel in France and look for somewhere out of town with easy and safe parking. We wanted a change from the formulaic chain hotels so booked at the nearby Manoir de Gavrelle. The Manoir had double booked, so sent us to the Aquarium. It is not easy to find but on arrival we received a friendly welcome and a large and clean room with parking directly outside. We enjoyed a good meal in the restaurant with friendly service and Leffe on draft. The hotel is near the TGV line to Lille, and there is a bit of noise as the trains whoosh pass, but it is far from noisy and certainly did not disturb our sleep. Apart for the trains the place is very quiet. We will use this hotel again. The staff do speak better French than English, but after all the hotel is in France.

GpS_2607on 11/06/2015 11:52Do not expect anything special. No english speaker at reception, so no information about how to get in if you come after 10:30PM. Bed a bit broken. Poor breackfast (for 10€...). And it is really in the middle of nowhere. Everything reachable only by car after minimum 20 min drive to see other people.

Eva Ton 28/05/2015 23:29Located next to highway. Part of the rooms directly to the street which makes it look more like a motel than a 3 star hotel. Aquarium & fish topic is presented in a non-pleasant way (sad goldfish glass at reception, living lobsters in the middle of the restaurant) and pretty shabby interieur. Outside a field which is hopefully the reson why there are so many insects in the rooms. Definitely lacks cleanliness also in the bathroom. Prices definitely too high.Staff is very friendly and helpful though. Very quiet. Very original french breakfast and high quaity restaurant.

However, it is in the middle of nowhere, so take something to do. Was fine for me visiting on business and working all day in Bethune and Arras, but I wouldn't recommend for a family or a couple looking for amenities within walking distance.
Nice and clean but what about the fish!
LauraTravelling2014on 22/10/2014 16:21I stayed at this hotel recently and while it was nice and clean and perfectly adequate for what we needed I was very confused and upset to see goldfish in small bowls being used as bar/table decorations.
